I did not take a PMPS test yesterday. Given his pattern and his AM +9 of 307, it seemed to me that taking a reading would only be to satisfy curiosity, and not worth the strip or Bastian's patience. He had been pretty good about the 5 tests so far yesterday. I did test him as late as I could (+4 193) just to see how he was doing. (Still a little spooked by that 35 at +6 on his first dose of Levemir.)

Anyone else here do that? Or have observations about me doing it?

Bastian is pretty detached. Not much interaction with beans or cats. But this morning, he got a little hissy and batty when bullet kitten Nellie was close. Not that I want Nellie hissed and batted at (she's just a tiny thing, and I never want her joy diminished), but I saw it as a good thing that Bastian was demonstrating that he knew Nellie was there. I've been concerned about Bastian having a flat affect.

I know that for myself, I'm not comfortable shooting blind. We work very hard to encourage beans, especially the newbies, to make getting pre-shot tests part of their routine. I know you are experienced with the use of insulin and this is a cat in your care, but for the sake of the newbies and lurkers, I would not encourage skipping the test. Gabby may be weird, but she continues to surprise me despite having a massive amount of data. ECID but they are all cats and all revel in their unpredictability. Maybe it's me but I hate those surprises that get my heart racing.
