Mannie had a decent day yesterday, a resting from the greens day. :smile: We are starting out with a high blue, and I hope for good things today. be cool though Mannie, as your bean hopes to go today. We shall see what Mannie's +2 says, and if indeed I have been given my permission slip. :-D :cool:

All is well in MannieLand, The kitty choir did not oversleep this morning, and made sure that the bean was awake. :-D :cool: :cool: It was refreshing that I only received bellows in the ear, and no claws -sweet! I got up before head singer BJ decided that claws were needed. We had a successful test feed shoot, lots of purrs to be had. Mannie makes that aspect of FD so easy... :cool: :razz: It must have been a great breffis today - clean plate club status achieved in a record pace :shock: with major face washing after: 15 minutes of major face washing... :lol: :lol: It has been a mellow start to today - they are all on their best behavior: no whacking, no icy cold stares, just gentle sweet cuddly kitties. :-D :-D They have all now retired to their corner, for some napping. My DS stopped by last night for a bit and arranged Mannie's nanners for him. :shock: all piled high in a stack. :lol: Mannie must have decided that was just too much, as he knocked them over, and settled down on top... Yep, all is well in MannieLand.

have a great day everyone -I am here in a minute or two, after Mannie's +2, to go hiking. I hope. :cool:

Kitties - time to par-tay! And cook! Kitchen krew - so much to do. I am so excited - we gets to go to one of my favorite places - FLORIDA!!! we best get moving!!! so very much to do. And... all kitties welcome on the kitchen krew. See you guys!!~~ Mannie

Hi Michelle, How funny about your DS re-arranging Mannie's nanners and Mannie putting them back in his preferred order!! Good boy doesn't want beans messing with his stuff! I hope that you will have a wonderful hike today in good weather. Looking forward to the hike report and some pics. I'm sure Mannie will give you permission to go. After all, he's got lots to do for Angel's party!

Mannie!! Can you please add my special drink to the menu that I made for Angel's OTJ party? I was up all night while my mom was giving me pokeys and I mixed it up. It's called "Angel's Kiss" and it has white creme de cacao, sloe gin, brandy and light cream...lots of white just like her!! And of course, FD friendly!!! Let's cook!!

I hope Mannie lets you off this morning, but no fud spike yet big guy? He may have other plans. We actually have sun here in the morning and I hope to get outside to enjoy it too.Yesterday the marine layer didn't lift until mid afternoon. :sad:

I was just stopping by to say thank you to Mannie for the party menu (and the cooking)! I see that he takes it very seriously...
I am particularly looking forward to trying some of the catmint parfait (if the Beans are allowed at these parties?)

Hey everybody!! thanks to all for the visit today while the bean was out having fun.... :cool: :cool: :-D I did make the hike - took a chance with Mannie's +2 - thought it was = to the amps, wasn't dropping (yet), and the hike wasn't too long and thought I'd be back by his +8. well, made +9, a 166. I wonder what he did while I was gone.... confused_cat I was a little nervous when I didn't get that food spike at +2....

WOW!!!!!! on today's hike-I went to a mountain lake (elev: 2550 topside), a lower elevation one, as the higher stuff is still not free of snow. :o The trail was really nice - well maintained. And the lake? :-D :-D :-D :-D :razz: Beautiful!!! The snow finally started clearing the trails there about 2 weeks ago, and even still I ran into a few patches (patches?? HAHA: more like frozen snow avalanche slides) of it covering the trail... I was grateful someone else had gone before me, as well... you couldn't see the trail.... but I could find the footprints.... what a great day - I logged 7.5 miles, climbed about 1550 feet, sweated off what feels like a gallon of water (euuwwww), had full sun, with warm temps. SWEET! Photos tomorrow...

Hi ella - oh that was funny with the nanners last night. and it was such a nice stacked pile too.... :lol: :lol: and yes on the hike -I did go. it was a high enough blue that I wasn't too worried, and it wasn't lower than amps... so thought he'd be OK. Came home to a 166. He may have gone green, but I don't think so... I bet it was just a nice low level blue one. Hike was so fun! Forest, some talus slopes, mtn range vistas, and an amazing lake - so so pretty. Do you remember Lake 22? by Granite Falls?

Hi Angela - :-D :-D not too sure what he did! :shock: :lol: I think probably a surf, but with Mannie ya just never know. He is well known for those agendas.... :lol: :lol:

Hi Sharon - thanks for the visit. :-D and thanks - hike was great. Mid 60's on the way in, probably in the 40's up by that lake - kinda cool up there. I hope you gets get some relief from all that heat soon.

Hi Ann, and Miss Maggie - I think so too. I have found that more often than not he knows when I have something that I would like to do, and he gives me BG's that allow me to do it. Kinda weird... but I'll take it.... no DGS today - probably just as well for this one.... It was alot of climbing... :roll: and an affirmative on this one: no snakes... too cool up there for them - good for me!

Hi Marje - Looks like he did as you asked - nice and steady.... hope so anyways - a nice 166 when I got home. and yep: out we went - very nice hike. the lake was just so great - exceptionally pretty!

Hi Ann, and Miss Tess - yep - he let me go... well I interpreted it as a permission slip - one just never knows for sure with him.... Just a little concerned when there was no fuds spike at +2 :shock: :? What I would give to know what he did while I was gone....

Hi Michelle! Congrats to your girl - I love OTJ's - such a great thing to have happen. Mannie takes his job very seriously.. :lol: the cookbooks were flying around here last night for the longest time... ya know some of those things do sound darn good! Kinda makes me hungry when Mannie is putting this stuff together.... :lol: maybe we could hide in the wings, raid the tables, and they'd never know what hit them... maybe.... :cool:

The hike sounds amazing! So glad you got out and enjoyed yourself. Mannie was probably just busy guarding his nanners and getting ready for the big party anyway. He had some nice blue numbers today.

Hi Melissa - Me too -I had a good time... it was a good hike. :-D on Mannie - no doubt! He wanted to go outside when I got home, and one he had enough of grass rolling he was back inside, laying on the nanners... :roll: :lol: I would say that it is safe to say that he spent a large part of today there... :cool:

Nice safe blue surf today for Mannie. you can come on down now Mannie, the bean is home to appreciate your numbers.

I can believe that there was still snow in the mountains, with as cool as it has been this summer, even way down here. I'm glad you had a good time.

Mannie sure had a nice even surf today. It's like he knew you were out and he needed to behave!!

Your hike sounds like it was spectacular. I can't even image still seeing snow on the ground in August!! Where did you hike to, Alaska?!!! Can't wait to see the pics.

Hi Ann - yep, I think he played it safe today. And now that I am home, down he goes, so that I can go :shock: :cool: :razz: Me too on the snow - it was just on that one part of the lake/mountain - it usually has some, but not this much. this was at 2500 feet! It should be snow-less... not this year. We have several hiking areas that still remain closed as they are considered hazardous... just unreal! The snow is not melting.... a very very late start this year.

Hi Bev - affirmative on the white stuff - still some of that hanging around wayyyyy upppp there in those mtns. Didn't expect that much though... Hi Patty - I think so - he has done that before - been good when he senses that I will be gone... Now it looks like he is back to business if that +2 is any indication. :-D and :lol: :lol: no, no on Alaska... just up to the alpine areas here - about 45 minutes from home. Amazing though we till have alot of that stuff around - way high up. and there it can stay too!

Oh WOW! Trillum in August! And this is just a day trip? I am so jealous! And Hey! I've been to the Stillaguamish River! We went stone collecting there. I have a couple of fantastic suiseki (Japanese viewing stones, placed in carved bases) from there.

Hi Ann- It was a good hike - I really like this one. Hiked there for the frost time last year, and have decided it is on the "keeper" list. It is one of the few where you can hike all the way around the lake - and what a lake! Photos up tomorrow! The whole album is stored on FB and that link is in my signature line - under hike photos, if you want to see them all... --and yep on Mannie - I was glad to get that permission slip this morning... PHEW!

hey Ann - yeah - do you believe that??? Trillium in August!!!! omg!!! and yes - just a day trip. The trail is about 45 minutes, maybe an hour, from where I live - very doable. Hike itself can be done in a hour each way.. takes me a little longer since I take way too many photos.. :roll: :roll: and I took my time hiking around the lake. it was too nice not too, and then it took a little time to "navigate" the snow fields... that was fun (!!) so all in all a 6 hour day trip. -- NO KIDDING on the Stillaguamish River!! wow - small world! wow on the stones - now that is way cool - from the Stillaguamish River no less. I love it!

Hi Ella - and thanks!! it is a nice place, isn't it. and yes, the snow was fun! And I was careful... you could tell that in some spots it was there, but hollow underneath... aiyee! Some party those kitties are having - I too don't think the kitties will be home anytime soon. :lol: :lol: The life!
