http://felinediabetesgroup.freeforums.n ... pmbg-trial This is the post from yesterday on the back up site.

Hardey was 106 this am (no dry all day), but I miss the green numbers. I fed him a bit and will try again in 3 hours (just to see if I can get a green number). Probably just being paranoid.... What level/color should I be aiming for? Is it okay for him to be around 106 everytime I test? At what number should I start worrying that maybe he's not doing as well as we want?

Re: 8/1 Hardey AMBG 106 OTJ day 5

Morning Mary Alice,

106 is still normal range. I know we all want those greens, but they don't always cooperate.

My Cleo is a kitty who runs in the higher normal numbers, and it was very frustrating for me. She had been almost all green on a tiny dose of insulin, but went to more blues after I stopped. She still runs in the higher greens now, but I think that is just her normal. She acts/feels wonderful, and that is most important.

I don't know Hardey's story, and I don't see any insulin doses on his SS. Someone who has been working with you will come along soon- try not to stress, ECID!

Have a wonderful day,

Jane

Morning ~O) ~O) ~O)
Congrats to you and Hardey on day 5!!!!!!!
I've got my fingers crossed you get to see  at your next test. With meter variance, that 106 could easily be a  .

Don't worry, you've got lots of experienced eyes watching Hardey's OTJ trial. They won't let you get off target.
Have a great day Mary Alice. Hugs to you and scritches to Hardey

Thanks Jane. Good to know I'm not being paranoid. :)

I actually joined this group on Saturday (that's why the graph starts when it does). Hardey's last dose was Saturday morning and (luckily) I did my first test Saturday night before I shot and found the numbers were too low to shoot. When he was diagnosed (beginning of July), he was in the 500's. Hoping we can keep the numbers down without insulin. :)

Thanks ecurie (too!). We must have been posting at the same time. lol

Glad to have all these wonderful people out there rooting for us. :)

We look for numbers to stay in the 50 - 120 range. However, below 100 is preferable. The problem is we don't know where Hardey's average BG was before he became diabetic. Some cats run higher and other lower.

Re: 8/1 Hardey AMBG 106 OTJ day 5

Thanks Sienne. Wish we knew that number. :(

Guess I'll be happy with low 100's and just hope for lower. He's acting fine. Just overly paranoid I guess.

Yay! 81 ....

Plus he seems to be getting over the nostalgia of wet food and instead of eating all of it when I put it down, he's eating until he's full and then walking away. Much easier!

Hardey is on trial day 5,
keeping his hopes alive.
Soon it will be at an end,
and we'll have a party then.

:RAHCAT Go Hardey Go! :RAHCAT
