A little bouncy this morning, I think. Gus woke me up today by jumping onto my stomach :o He weighs 16 lbs. so it got my attention right away. He hasn't done that in a long time. Just lately, he started to climb the stairs to our bedroom. That was a surprise too. His behavior just makes me sooooo happy. We're starting our search for the new vet today. Paws crossed for some luck. Enjoy your days.

Re: 8/1 Gus AMPS 379

You will notice as time goes on that he'll come back to his normal self. I'm wishing for Gus to come down a bit for you today... Whadya say, Gus... You think you can get into some blue #s today for your Momma Bean?

Re: 8/1 Gus AMPS 379

Yeah, 16lbs in your stomach gets your attention fast!   I'm glad he is feeling great

Good luck finding a vet today.

Re: 8/1 Gus AMPS 379

my main coon kitty weighed 24 lbs at his peak, and when he stood on you it was like his feet were pointed they hurt so much. and for some reason he liked to stand instead of sit. SIT DOWN FELIX!

they don't know they're not light and fluffy!

good luck today with the looking for a new vet. shouldn't be too hard to find someone nice who can make time to see s sick cat! probably impossible to find someone with knowledge of acromegaly - you might be doing the teaching there.

Re: 8/1 Gus AMPS 379

Nice to hear Gus is back to feeling like himself again. Oh my, 16 lbs. of kitty on the stomach; that's a big hint to get up! Good luck with finding another Vet.

Re: 8/1 Gus PMPS 409

Yikes! 16lbs of kitty on your stomach is quite a wake up call! I hope you had luck finding a new vet! I may be on the search again soon...my vet is great, but I found out today that's she's pregnant. Figures!!!

Re: 8/1 Gus PMPS 409

We saw our new vet today at 1:30. He seems very genuine and has 6 cats of his own. Diabetes is a subject he has a lot of experience with as he once had 3 diabetic kitties, all at one time! He is familiar with Lantus to a greater degree than our last vet. He knows a bit about acromegaly. He didn't say as much, but I think Gus may be his first giant. Lots of comments concerning his size from other clients in the waiting room. Gus, he's just napping in his carrier, waiting for his turn. So laid back, this guy. I thought it was important for the new vet to meet Gus along with his Mom and Dad. He was really pleased with his body mass and said that I was doing a good job with him. Little does he know that the boss of this team is the fuzzy one  Having said that, with 6 cats of his own, I'm sure he knows. Long, long day today, but I think we will give this vet a try. I was left with a feeling that he was knowledgable and sincere. That's a good start.
