So last night (early morning) Doogle started throwing up a little. We didnt feed him for the rest of the morning till shot time. In the mean time, he must have thrown up again sometime after I finally went to sleep (around 7am). It had alot of hair in it. So we think maybe he finally groomed himself and the hair got him sick. I did go ahead and give him a pepcid this morning 30 mins before he ate. He has kept down his food. He didnt like the Orbax he has to have....lol. So hopefully we are on the road to recovery. I am watching everything he is doing like he was a newborn and I am a new mom.....LOL. Watching him to make sure he is breathing, picking him up and cradling him, and all around babying him. I know yall understand but some I know dont. Oh well, hate it for them.

Awww, poor Doogle. Hopefully it was just that hairball, and he's continuing to recover. Yep, we all so totally understand. Not only to I hover and worry about my own kitties, but I worry about all the kitties here on LL, too!!

Well we are having a great day today!! Not to low to make me nervous. He is eating some Tiki Cat Chicken (which I love).

So having to delay Doogle's shot....he is 107 at shot time. There is no way I am shooting that low! Plus he started throwing up white foam again. So I gave him a pepcid to see if that helps. Funny he didnt get sick all day today but now its night time, he is doing like he did last night. I can tell he is nauseated or something because he is sitting in the meatloaf position and licking his lips. Weird this is only happening at night?

Did they give you some ondansetron (zofran)? Can you syringe him if the nausea is addressed?

I'm sure I don't have to tell you how important it is to get his insulin in him considering his DKA. I hope you will shoot soon. He's pretty flat.

I was just arguing with the DH about this. I asked last week when we were at the regular vet and I felt like I was being ignored. His vet wont be back till Monday. He is up a little bit but still throwing up white foam (even with the pepcid). I can syringe feed him but I am pretty sure he will throw that up too. I am wondering if its the Orbax he is taking for the UTI he had. Its an oral suspension and been on it for 4 days now and this just started early this morning (late last night). I am shocked by the low numbers too.

Ok so what does this flat blue mean for tonight do you think? I dont think I have ever dealt with this.

He is coming up....he does need insulin. You may need to take him to ER to get the vomiting stopped. If its the orbax, you can likely stop it and have them give something else but he needs the Insulin and food.

He is at least moving around. They are going to give him cerenia in an iv. I asked about the zofran and they said there isn't a pill or liquid for home. Is that true?

So sorry to see Doogle is at the ER, paws crossed.

We give Zener ondansetron (zofran). It comes in 4mg pills that we cut into quarters and he gets 1mg (1/4 tablet) 30 minutes before his first meal in the AM and PM. We order if from thrivingpets.com. Our vet faxes them a prescription.

Ok we are home from the ER but I am sooooo tired I am going to go to bed. The DH will be up with him. Basically he has a blockage in his colon from fecal matter. He got a warm enema, laxatone orally, cerenia, and subq fluids. Going to start him on either Miralax or pumpkin tomorrow. Just have to wait for things to clear now. I have xrays and other stuff but to tired to type it all out. Thank you for all your kinds thoughts and healing vines!!!

Hugs to you and Doogle.... What a long night that must have been. Glad they figured out what it was. I hope you have a better day tomorrow.

I'm so glad to hear they found the problem and it's on the way to fixed. I hope you can all get some good rest, good poos and then good fuds and insulin.

You must be exhausted from the emotional roller coaster. I hope Doogle leaves a deposit in the LB for you and things get back to normal.

The drop in numbers is likely Doogle responding to the antibiotic. The infection may have been raising his numbers as once the infection is clearing, numbers drop.
