I never ever thought I would have a cat, I was a dog person. I didn't hate cats but had no interest in them. I guess about 13 years ago my brother was going through a hard time and I foolishly told him he could move in with me, till he got back on his feet. He was depressed and wanted a cat. Now I seemed to remember that my brother was really allergic cats, which was the reason he had to give up the cats he had in the past. He insisted that wasn't true. So to cheer up my brother (thinking he wouldn't be living with me for long), I bought him a kitten. Now I already had an older dog at home, gentle but of course didn't know how he would react with the kitten. We named Marvin after the character on South Park named Starving Marvin.... purrfect name..... Well living with my brother didn't work, trying to integrate the kitten with Laddie the dog, was hard. Living with my brother was harder, well everthing fell apart one day when my brother tried to play with the kitten, my brother was in a weird mood for days, Laddie went up to smell the cat and barked, no growling, and my brother tried to hit the dog, I got mad at my brother, he decided to move, on move day I noticed that he hadn't packed any of the cat stuff, asked him about it and what does he say... Sorry can't take Marvin with me I am severely allergic to cats :banghead:

I didn't have the heart to give Marvin away, I kinda liked him.... fell in love with him over time, and the following picture just warmed my heart as Laddie(GA) my dog was the child I never had. It took a long time before I could have them in the same room together as I was too nervous as Laddie was too excited when he saw him. A friend of mine helped to get them together and this is the type of friendship they had. After Laddie Pasted Away, it was just Marvin and me, until crazy Jazz joined us, and they do no like each other at all.

Marvin loved to lick Laddie's ears or swat him in the face as he passed by
