hi all,
he has had some food today so far but not as much....he's been pretty quiet...didn't wake me up at 4 am....

AMPS 160

we are off to the vet in half hr....

his whole body feels pretty warm...which i will ask the vet about...i took his temp yesterday but not sure if i hit poo....and it was only 37.7C (no idea what it is in F)....

we are back...

vet said the findings on the ultrasound based on the report she got is that though the lump has grown in size they feel Rocket is a miracle he is still here and doing fine...all things considered....so the plan on that is to continue the pred/bupe and continue to report back to her if things do change with his demeanour....

now....they took x-rays of him...no fluid build up in the lungs...so that's good....BUT....the mass that was under/near the ribcage back in Feb....is STILL THERE....SOOOO....she won't give me more info on it until she gets the Xrays done at the hospital back in Feb to compare and see if that mass has grown/shrunk....she says it DOES LOOK LIKE IT"S IN THE LUNGS....but she won't be able to comment further until she gets the other xrays for comparrison....he was awake for the xray and fought them as usual so the xrays are not the best until she sees the ones from before...that's what she told me...i don't know...i have the feeling she didn't want to say much until she gets the previous xrays.... :sad:

bottom line she said that at his AGE...and multiple issues....that he has done remarkably well and we will continue with the regimen of meds he has been all along until things change....

i will NOT do a biopsy of the lung mass....same as the one on the pancreas....i'm opting NOT to put him thru that...

it is not a good report....but i'm ok with it for now as he has been eating ok

temp was taken at the vet and it was normal per the vet....also she said the skin issue is NOT related to the abdomen/pancreas lump...so we can treat it as a SEPARATE issue...

soooo.....she said it does NOT look like a skin infection...that's good news....BUT there is a small lump and a scab around that area...soooo....she said to monitor the lump and advise if it grows...believe me i WILL keep a close eye on that....as per the redness she said it should start to clear but we should give it roughly 2 weeks....if it doesn't then to report to her....so once again I WILL keep a close eye on that....

she too was of the opinion that Rocket has proven them wrong...and that he still has fight in him...for when they took him to the back for the xray....as always....he gave them a good workout...

so not good news but not bad news all things considered....as per the anemia she said the HCT was 36% Jun 23 and this week was 31%....and that at this point she would not add any more meds to his regime until he gets lower on the HCT....

the mistery on the skin continues....she thinks it was a blood vessel i hit when i gave him the subq fluids....but it is hard to tell....i told her he has no access of jumping up/down to have such trauma on the skin....

i guess i'm tired and things haven't sank in for me....he is doing ok and has good QOL so far and that's all i have to keep telling myself...once that is not there....then we go to the next step....but i will try not to think too much on that....

please continue to keep us in your thoughts and prayers....it is because of that Rocket has gotten this far....

today he turns 17 years 10 months old.....or should i say YOUNG!

All in all Claudia, I think this is a very good report. HAPPY ALMOST 18 Rocket!! I also think with all he has going on that you have done a remarkable job with him; he looks really good and I'm hoping that red spot will clear up soon. Hang in there...he's ok...he's a fighter. HUGS!!

That's a good vet report for a kitty celebrating his 17year/10 month birthday! Happy Birfday, Rocket! I think that it's because of you that he is doing so well, Claudia. You take such good care of him. Every day that he continues to feel good is a good day, and one worth celebrating.

I see a lot of positives in your post. A lot of unanswered, but Rocket is proving them all wrong. He is teaching them a valuable lesson and I'm sure has made them think.

As Karrie said, there are lots of things that sounded good in the report. I would definitely focus on the positives and give Rocket all the love you always do and be thankful for each new day. I can't believe Rocket still fights them at the vet. Defintely a good sign! Rocket is going to be 18 soon -- Wow! You are such a terrific mamabean and I think Rocket definitely wants to celebrate his 18th birthday with you! Hugs and prayers

I also agree...lots of hopeful news in this vetty report. So glad to hear that Rocket remains feisty and gives those techs a workout! Rocket is one lucky kitty to have you as his bean...

i don't believe i posted these pics here...

here is Rocket on his bed sleeping with Mr Teddy....his teddy bear has been mended many times over....he's had it since he was a kitten and i have tried to replace it with a different teddy bears but he won't part with this one....so it has never been washed...he used to have a snake for a stuffed animal too and i made the mistake in washing it many years ago and once it was washed...he refused to play with it....so i learned my lesson....

Honestly, he is just the cutest little guy. So relaxed!! That one of him with the teddy bear is cuteness overload.

considering he went to the vet today...i'm extremely happy with that pmps 153!!!!...and he had a small snack at +11 too...
 
He is so handsome and adorable. I just want to cuddle him!!!! Your pictures and videos have totally made my day. I can't believe how calm and content he looks both at the vet and in the car. I love his white paws.

Thank you so much for sharing the pictures. Rocket looks so good and very cuddly! I just can't believe how calm he is at the vet and in the car. I brought Cleo to the vet yesterday and she was pretty good in the car, but once she got to the vet, she just wanted to hide in my arm the whole time. I just loved the picture of Rocket with his bear. That really made my night to see him so happy looking and content. Take care and have a restful night.

I haven't been on the forum for a week or so, and just got caught up on what's been happening to Rocket. Thank you so much for sharing the pics/videos. He is just a lover! What a relaxed kitty, and he almost seems to be enjoying his car ride! I know you are under terrible stress with all this. Hang in there!!! I am so glad you have opted NOT to do the biopsies. I think that is a very wise decision.

OMG! Rocket is a beautiful boy and he looks really good. I am a meditator and will send him all kinds of healing energy when I visualize him. Meanwhile, all of your love and good care is doing wonders for him. Love the picture of him with his teddy bear. My Morgaine has a similar face though she is a calico, she has that all white muzzle and the white bib.
 
Glad to hear that you have an action plan, Claudia, even if it is pretty much the status quo. Hope the skin situation is resolved soon.
