Hope everyone is having a phenomenal day. It's been a busy one for me, out most of the day, except back once to feed the kitties, tried to take a +5 from Lulu but no dice. Then took them each for a little walkie in their harnesses and leash. Boy, they sure hate coming back home, they'd rather be outside. It's just too dangerous around here to let a kitty out without being tethered, major road nearby...bunnies have burrowed under the fence, so if kitty runs under that and heads for the road, I don't know what I'd do. Try hard to climb the fence, but it's pretty high.

@Wendy&Neko or @julie & punkin (ga) - I'm going hiking in the mountains tomorrow and Saturday (will be home overnight of course). I just upped Lulu from .50f to .75 6 days ago. I'm wondering if it would be prudent to give her .5u starting tonight until Saturday night, as she won't be tested from AMPS until PMPS each day. Otto of course will be stocked. What say you, oh wise ones? Much appreciated.

Prayers and vines to those in need.

I'm glad you were able to take the kitties out for a while today. I'm sure they hate having to go back in side. Nice slide for Lulu today. Does she eat the food left for her if she goes low?

Good question. I wonder what's with all those yellow amps she's been having this week compared to the last week of June. Anything different other than her dose?

I think you've got a good plan. I almost would be tempted to leave her at 0.75u only because it doesn't look like it's doing the job, but . . . to be on the safe side, it's probably good to go to the 0.5u.

Have fun hiking!

I don't really know, Julie, other than to say I've started to take her out on a harness and she eats some grass. Could that cause a problem (the grass has not been sprayed with chemicals of course). I was actually thinking of a dosecrease on Wednesday if things didn't come down.
And to answer Carla's question -- oh yeah, she really chows down if her BG drops. Right now it's so hot in here, all three kitties are just laying around like limp rags, took maybe a couple of bites of their dinner. I'm just about to PMPS test and shoot Lulu.
Thanks a bunch, Julie & Carla.

Exercise typically lowers the blood sugar because the muscles use more glucose out of the blood stream. So I wouldn't think going for a walk would increase blood sugar. I haven't heard of eating grass being a problem. Lots of cats like grass, although sometimes they throw it back up.

Yes, sometimes they do throw it up along with a hairball. Lulu needs a lot of urging to walk, she's more inclined to just lay there. I have to coax her, I won't drag her lol. The other two, civies, are right into walking, but neither of them are overweight like Lulu is.
btw...I bought pens yesterday rather than a vial, and was directed to your video on how to use, as I didn't have a clue. Thank you so much, I would've done it all wrong if I hadn't seen your video :bighug:
