Darwin amazed me again this morning and ate just under 1/2 can of FF classics with only a TINY bit of YA kibble sprinkled on top...over the moon!! :cat:

I think just me purchasing the large bag of YA and it arriving is probably what made him decide to finally eat canned - typical :banghead:;):joyful:

Wondering how soon the switch to low carb is likely to make a change? I'm going to watch his numbers more closely this week before deciding on increasing his dose.

HI!
Low carb food can make a big difference so it is important to be able to test until you know how Darwin (love the name) will respond.
Dr Elsey also makes a low carb dry if you are trying to transition... good to have options.
Dr Elsey chicken is 4.69% carb and the salmon is about 9%
My boys and my shop cat did not do very well on the young again. My shop cat actually had a pretty bad bout of water poo and vomit-
They all are ok with Dr Elsey....
Many cats do well on YA tho.
Good luck:)

I'm interested to see how his numbers change. I would increase to 1.75 units based on this week's numbers, but I want to wait and see what the food change does first. I always test before shots, but am trying to get as many as I can in between. He's named Darwin because he has thumbs...slightly more evolved :D;):joyful:

So far, Darwin has done well with YA I went through two sample bags, and mixed with his regular dry - he initially rejected it, but then started eating it well. I went ahead and ordered the 8.8 lb bag, and naturally the day it arrived was the very first day Darwin ever touched canned food. I don't want to add back in too much dry as I think it'll deter him from the canned, which is obviously preferable for his health. He seems to insist on a few kibbles placed on top to eat the canned, but then he has willingly eaten it since yesterday morning! :cat:

+9 = 295, PMPS = 284.

Such a wonderful day for me to see Darwin eat canned at every meal!! I am beyond elated - I never thought he would touch it! :D This evening he started to walk away, but I plucked one of the 6 kibble I placed on top and tossed it to him. Once he ate that; he ate most of the bowl of canned!
