I found her in the street when she was a kitten. Lets say she is a steet girl kind :)
she is a very coward cat, when someone comes to our house she immediately disappears and hides in the wardrobe, I think she was a moth in her previous life :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol:

Tifil is a beautiful kitty, Tess hides from visitors too. When she does stay out we know the visitor is special.

sometimes I also wonder if she is a Maine coon, but she is not as big as a maine coon. Maybe her parents were mainecoonies who knows :mrgreen:

Is the dosing going on well? +11 89 I am going to shoot because she is climbing I think (according to the data of last days)..what do you suggest?

Actually this 89 is a dropping number, we look at the current cycle for rise or drop. . Post the preshot number as soon as you get it, if that is up shooting should be Ok. Can you stay up to test?

Looks good Tifil! I would test him at +2 and +3 too. I looked at Tifil's spreadsheet and it looks like she'll sometimes have a food spike at +1, +2 or +3.

I think it's just past 11pm your time right now, right? Hopefully Tifil's numbers will be so easy that you won't have to stay up late.

yes the time is 11:20 pm now...I can stay up all night, I am in holiday :) lessons and exams are finished, I only visit the school once a week (this is the reason I love my job :lol: )

LOL!!! I love her pictures! She's so cute! And she looks so royal!

I'm hoping that this won't be a long night for you. Just to let you know where we're going, we should test her every hour until we see she hits nadir. If she hits below 50, we'll give her 1 tsp of high carb and test her every 15-20 minutes until she's back in her 50s.

Even if she is in her 50's, we probably test her every 30 min a couple of times to make sure her 50's aren't falling. Here is the post that will have more information.

We feed 1 tsp b/c we don't want the cat get too full and throw up. Just a little bit to get her BG up.

Just so you know, I have to leave in 15 minutes (~12:45am in Turkey, 4:45 CST). I'll be back in 3 hours. If you need help, add "Help" to your subject line and someone will come along. I'll be back in a few hours. Hope that Tifil will be nice and green and you'll be asleep! :-D

We were in my parents house, was not married then, I went in to the living room and saw her sleeping in that position :) I was really in a shock, ran back to the bedroom and took the camera, when I came back she was still in that position by chance, and she slept like that for hours :) strange kitty

I have a question, is it ok if I put some chlorophyll in her food, I know it's a silly question, but I have this powder suplement which I drink everyday, just wondering if it can have a good effect on Tıfıl...
and want to know if you are giving your kitties B12 vitamis and C vitamin??

by the way, tıfıl is having a placebo effect I think, because when she sees the insulin needle in my hand she automaticly lays down, even if she is playing she calms down so I can give her a shoot...the same with the testings, she pauses... like a lifeless mannequin

I haven't a clue about chlorophyll or vitamin C. I'd ask over on the Health board. For those people who give B-12 to their cats, it's usually methyl B-12 (methylcobalamin). Methyl B-12 is used to treat diabetic neuropathy.

I suspect that Tifil is reacting to being tested and shots the way he is because you've reinforced the behavior with treats and/or food. It's not a placebo effect. It's what many of our cats do. They associate shots and testing with treats and ultimately, with feeling better.

My kitty will come when he knows that it is time to test or get his shot. He lies there for me, often purrs, and lets me take care of him. I think they know we are trying to help them.

actually I don't give her treats after the testing, because I test so much :) if I give after every test she will be an obese :) That is what I was trying to say, she is doing this without a treat. but I do kiss her alot after the shot that is for sure :) Maybe she finds my kisses so treaty :)

I've hear of the methyl detail of the B12 and I have been searching for it here, I havent come up to it yet though. I have some from America, they are capsules, I open them and mix them in her meal. After they finish I will try to find somewhere. Can you suggest a brand that I can order from ebay?

bye the way, this baby is Rashid, I found him outside with no strenght in his legs, learned he has rickety.. (rickety is called rashitic in turkish, thats why his name was rashid :) healed him and gave him to a new home because tıfıl was really jealous, I am suspicious that tıfıl became diabetes because of jealousy :lol: :lol: :lol:

he was really beautiful :)

Gorgeous numbers, and gorgeous pictures - all of them! Thank you for sharing the big picture of her avatar...she's just so cute!!

Trixie is the same way at shot time and testing time...she is so helpful. When we first started on this journey and people were saying their kitties came running when they heard the test strip container being shaken, I was in disbelief. But now I live it myself...and I know when I tell people how compliant Trixie is with all of this, they don't believe me. But, I do think she knows that we are helping her...she purrs through her shots now! It's amazing to see, and I hope that I can help other newbies realize that I was once where they are, and now I am here. I can happen!

You are an amazing bean...great work!

Isil: I'm sorry I haven't visited your condo lately...don't get many done during the work week but Tifil's numbers are looking phenomenal and she is absolutely GORGEOUS!!! So is Miky!! They are really beautiful!!! What lucky kitties as is Rashid...so great of you to rescue him and find him a good home. He's darling!
