Yesterday was PINK day in MannieLand, with a little amps spike into the red zone.  AIyee...... plus we had some appy issues. The +2 in the morning was really iffy, but I managed to get it in him. I had gone hiking after that, DH said he did eat what I asked him to feed him. It was an off and on battle with the PM cycle, but with a little Gerber chicken baby food mixed in he did eat it all. CPC status maintained. :-D a relief!! We also started his meds (Panacur) for his giardia. hmmmmm - not a fan is the Manster. But I think we got it all in, with minimal down his front. Paws crossed here that this giardia thing is the cause for his recent appy issues, etc. The symptoms do fit. I will still keep his U/S appt on Friday, just to rule out, or confirm if that is the case, all other suspicions. What a day.... I am so glad that I actually sat down and read his labs. I just wish I had done it sooner, instead of being so focused on the radiology stuff.... and still a little perturbed that the vet missed it....

All is sorta well in MannieLand. :-D :-D He thinks things are grand - so perhaps I should just say: all IS well in MannieLand. Our weather here is exceptionally nice right now: sunny (!!) and 75, gentle breezes. Mannie loves days like this: sunning on the deck, roaming the yard, extra warm rays on the stairs. He is quite content. I missed most of what he did yesterday -as I was on an almost all day hike. He did meet me at the top of the stairs when I got home, was glad to see me. We had lots of head rubs, and scritches and pets. It was interesting that I didn't get that "where have you been stare". Maybe he knew his appy was off, and just wanted some TLC. and reassurance. So we dished out lots of that. It was a nice evening with the Nanner King.  This morning we had a great test, shoot and clean plate club (barely), AND the auto feeder was ignored by Mannie  , and Elsa still thinks it has her name on it, yet again.... so I am back to running interception on the feeder.... Despite all that I will still say: Normalcy in MannieLand. :-D

Hey everybody!! WOOT on yesterday!! That was so fun!! I LUBS boogie boards! and the clam bake!!!! We gots to do that more often. heeheehhe - I wonder what all the beach people thought when we was so busy digging in the sand. It was flying everywhere!   Whatcha wanna do today? Maybe we could go paddling.... or maybe just some road trippin'... What'd'ya think? ~~ Mannie

And completely OT: Here are some photos from my hike yesterday - Granite Lakes Road. It was a beautiful day there!! I didn't make it to the lake, mainly because there was no clearly defined trail, and what I did find ran into a stream that was 2 feet deep and several feet wide... so I bagged out on wading.  I've also included the FaceBook links for anyone who wants to see all the photos: Granite Lakes Road

Re: 7/8 Mannie AMPS 229

Hi Michelle, nice AMOS for Mannie's start of the day. Glad the Gerber chicken bf helped with his appy. Mags would eat it for a main entree if allowed! :-D I hope so, too, that the giardia thing is the cause for his recent appy issues, etc. Is it a pill med for Mannie? Yes, better to go ahead on the u/s just to rule out anything else. Did you happen to speak with the Vet when you called about it or another Vet? I don't blame you for being perturbed. It's a good thing we can all get our own human records, too! There used to be a time when they were hard for us to obtain. Gorgeous pics of your hike. So is a hike on today's agenda or maybe a walk.

Mannie road trippin sounds like fun today, maybe explore one of those neat lakes around your area. I'll see ya at the curb. Mags

Re: 7/8 Mannie AMPS 229, +2 296

296 @ +2. appy is still off, but he sure likes his BF. Thanks goodness I can mix it with some decent Mannie fuds...

Hi Ann - Me too on the BF - it's all he really wants this morning, but he will let me mix it with his normal stuff. I sure hope this issue ends soon.... His meds are a liquid form - so far so good on that. It is tough though to get it all in him without it ending everywhere but his mouth...  I spoke with another vet in the office, as his regular vet is out on vacation, but I have no doubt that this one will let his regular one know. She pretty much said that would be the case. Thansk on the pics - today I think will be just a normal walk here at the shore. I have so much laundry to do, and I need to spend time disinfecting all of Mannie's stuff: LB's etc, and make sure I have addressed any standing water issues in the yard. :?

Hey Maggie - cool! let's do ti! We got lots of really cool lakes here. Road rippin' it is! I'll bring snacks... I hoe Tess has some catmint crisps... See you at the curb! ~~ Mannie

Re: 7/8 Mannie AMPS 229, +2 296

Hi Michelle,

Nice catch on the lab reprot! Sorry to hear tha Mannie has Giardia:( That does cause loose stools and an upset tummy so perhaps that's why his appy is a bit off. One of my kitties had it way back in the day and the Panacur helped to get rid of it. Glad to hear the Gerber baby food is helping to stimulate his appetite. He must be happy to get that as a treat!
Thanks for sharing pictures of the of your hike. It looks like oyu had a wonderful time.

Hey Mannie, I'm up for a road trip too! I'll bring some fish cakes and yogurt pops! See ya soon! Ella

Re: 7/8 Mannie AMPS 229, +2 296

Morning Tamara - thanks for the info - it is nice to read that someone has treated this successfully with panacur. and yes - Mannie is glad for the baby food - at least there is no issue with him eating it. YAY! Thanks too on the pics - glad you ejoyed them. It was a fun time!

Hey Ella - you are on! AWESOME on the fish cakes and yogurt pops. That is so cool! I promise I won't eat all of them.... but they is SO GOOD.... See you soon! ~~ Mannie

Re: 7/8 Mannie AMPS 229, +2 296, +4 255

Hi Michelle.
I so agree with Tamara. Nice catch on the lab report. :thumbup ....and glad that you have an answer, and it's curable. :-D
I'm glad the baby food is a hit with Mannie. It helps get Checks to eat, too.
Hope Mannie and you have a wonderful day, enjoying the sun and nice weather today, Michelle. :-D

Re: 7/8 Mannie AMPS 229, +2 296, +4 255

Nicer start to the day, Tess seems to be keeping him company again today. Maybe they will stay out of trouble!

I hope the Panacur does the trick. I wonder if the appy issues yesterday might be due to the meds too. I know the last time Tess was on ABs she reacted very badly to them, but they did do the job.

Gotcha! The whole Furrari id=s full of Catmint Crisps! Ummm, we needs to eat some to make room for passengers! -- Tess

Re: 7/8 Mannie AMPS 229, +2 296, +4 255, +8 358

I hope Mannie's appy has picked up by now. I gotta tell ya, considering the fact that you brought him in for appy and poo issues and the vet missed a big ole "yes" next giardia...well, I'm appalled. Maybe I'm beinga bit cynical, but I swear vets today are looking and hoping for "bigger" things to diagnose, and are completely bypassing the simpler, more likely causes of issues. I've seen it with my own vet, as well as with my business partner's vet and her kitties, too. Argh...I'll leave it at that.

Take your meds and feel better, Mannie!!

Re: 7/8 Mannie AMPS 229, +2 296, +4 255, +8 358

358 @ +8. :YMSIGH: :YMSIGH:

Hi Barb - HX on the labs - good thing I read them huh. damn vet! i too am glad that we have a huge piece of the puzzle - that there is an answer. What I would give just to have him eat and not have to spoon feed a baby food/cat fuds mix. well at least he eats it! :-D :-D And thanks day has been nice. 75 here , perfect for a walk to the shore.

Hi Amy - I am with you. I like my vets... but.... the fact that this was missed is a bit much for me to take. I think in this case you are right - they/she was so hung up on the films and what was or was not there that when the fecal results came in, nobody caught it. It was in bold print. seriously? All this other stuff is secondary, and may well just be normal for him (he's never had an issue with any of this stuff...) , even the BW, in lieu of the now DX of giardia, supports that. good thing I took the time the other night to read all that paperwork, aka his labs. oh well.... he has his meds now, I hope they start to help him feel better soon, He seems a bit perkier this afternoon - I just pray he will eat come shot time.....

Hi Ann - well it was nice.... we are now pink again. I can't help but wonder how these meds thing and the BF thing are affecting his BG. i dunno.... but we are pink once again. And yes- Maybe he and Tess can buddy up and keep each other out of trouble.  -- I too wondered if this med stuff will make him nauseous, so read up on it a little, guess in rare cases it can, and also when the parasite begins to die that can make them nauseous too. Yes, I remember Tess's issues with the AB's.

Tess - WOO HOO!!! I LUBS CATMINT CRISPS!!! I hope my tummy will let me eat them.... yes it will! So we better start eating so we can fit kitties in the furrari. See you!! ~~ ~Mannie

Re: 7/8 Mannie PMPS 264

264 @ pmps

and he ate - thank anybody! It wasn't what I would have wanted to feed, but it was the one that interested him, so that is what he got. It was a 0% carb food - not my fav ting to feed, so I mixed in some BF when he was half way though just to up the carb content a little, in case we have appy issues later tonight. paws crossed he is almost done with the "uh... no, no thanks" thing. Paws crossed! :-D :-D

Re: 7/8 Mannie PMPS 264

Mannie, buddy, you got to eat your fuds, even if you're not so keen. It'll make your bean happy. I hope you're feeling better soon. ~Z

Re: 7/8 Mannie PMPS 264 , +2 261

Hey, Michelle -

Hopefully, the meds will help Mannie feel better, leading to a better appy and better numbers!

Sixth consecutive day of triple digits here and 9 of the last 10 days - ugh - that 75 and gentle breeze sounds awesome!

Have a great evening -

Libby (& Hershey, too!)

Hey, Mannie - I heard you ate a little better today - YAY! Make sure to take your meds and eat something so you get to feeling all better SOON! Lookin' forward to seeing my friends tomorrow! Your pal, Hershey

221 @ 3.5. not too bad... headed down nice and slow. :-D

Hi Libby I have heard about the heat over your way. I just can't imagine temps like that day in and day out. I really hope you guys are able to stay cool. So I will enjoy our 75 for you. :-D And thanks - I hope so too on the meds. Things were better for him tonight: at least he is eating. :-D

Hey Hershey - I DID! I did real good at dinner time, this morning wasn't so swell. I tried but nothing tasted good, ya know? I took my eds - but I rally don't like them - they taste nasty.... Hey - see you tomorrow, 'K? We gots traveling and hanging out to do! I will picks you up. ~~ Mannie

Enough yellow, Mannie! Come on down.

I hope he starts eating a lot better.....the head of the CPC has to set an example.

Have a great night!
