Happy Sunday all -

Grayson is doing another test drive today. He's come into work with me to help me get some stuff off my desk. Since I let him out of the crate, 9 minutes ago, he's used the LB, gotten tested, and is now having a snack. Not bad for having to go out in 100 degree heat (112 heat index) in a carrier. He's been here before when I was on deadline and was running a curve, so he's not as freaked out as last time. Hopefully, he'll settle in and relax in a little while. SUCH excitement!

No blues yet on this dose, but I'm still pretty happy w/ no reds, AND seeing yellows some more. LIke I said before, I'm starting to expect this!

Re: Grayson 7/8

Hi Luann
I never thought I would see the day that Grayson would get better numbers than Shakes!!
Wow, good for you 2!!!Keep it up!

Re: Grayson 7/8

Miracles never cease! I never thought we'd see anything but pinks!!! I'm SOOOO happy to have been wrong!

Re: Grayson 7/8

I know you're looking forward to even better numbers, but those yellows are lookin' GOOD!!!!!!! Way to go, Grayson and Lu!!

Looking forward to those cooler temperatures they keep predicting!!!

Libby (& Hershey, too!)

Gonna have to take him home in about an hour. I brought food, bowls & testing supplies with, but not insulin or syringes. I wish I had remembered either my phone or my camera - he's been looking SOOOOO cute in the window & I didn't get a picture! He's done amazingly well, although I did have to move a spider plant from the low file cabinet to the high one! Too much temptation, you know!

Anyways, seems like it was a good plan. Keep in mind, the airline isn't gonna want him out of the carrier... so it will still be a little different. But maybe he'll figure out that once he goes in the carrier, there's an adventure ahead. ...or something like that!

Re: Grayson 7/8

Have you ever tried Rescue Remedy? It's an herbal preparation to calm animals. I've not used it but I have it for Gabby's next time to the vet. She doesn't do well in the car.

Re: Grayson 7/8

Lu-Ann - are you going on an airline that lets you bring Grayson in the passenger area? Good plan to get him more comfortable with going places in the carrier.

Grayson - yellow is nice, but blue is way better. Come on down boy!

Re: Grayson 7/8

@ Wendy: Yes - absolutely!!! He'll ride under the seat, although I think he'd probably be happier w/ a window seat!
;-) When Cindy went for SRT, she flew and the seat next to her mom was open; so she got to have her by her feet but not stuffed underneath! Keep in mind, most of these Acros are large. Grayson has always been long and big-boned... now even moreso (jackrabbit hind legs!) but he's still skinny at the waist.

PMPS 333... not bad at all!!!

punkin goes nuts in his carrier - i've given up and just use the harness and leash, but you need the carrier for the plane. my daughter has flown with her cats several times and they seem to do under her feet.

i've used Rescue Remedy and punkin seems pretty unphased by it. some cats are very soothed by it - you might try it this week and see how he does. i started out putting some on his paws and around his face, then put more the next time, and finally put a dropperful into his food - none of it did much with him, but every cat is different. maybe he wasn't as bad as he otherwise would've been. you never know. but if you think you want to try it, i'd get some and try it soon so you know how much to try when you're getting on the plane.

what are the notations on his ss c-1 and t-1 about?

the photos you mentioned with the guide for fine dosing are in the New to the Group - start here sticky at the top of the LL forum. they are really helpful.

good to see grayson in better numbers! he's looking much better. kind of him to help you at work today, too!

c-1 or t-2, etc are food type and quantity. Fancy Feast Chicken - 1 can; FF Turkey & Giblets - 2 cans, etc. Back before the IAA dx, I was trying to identify any variables that would impact his numbers. No I just use them as a guide to see the impact of food spikes (and his sometimes-ravenous appetite!)

Thanks for the link... I looked but couldn't find it!

And as for his numbers, it's difficult not to do the usual routine at 6:30 am, but I'm shifting shot times so he's on the 7/7 MTN time schedule, so I'm going into work early, then slipping out to shoot. He's NOT happy w/ 1/2 can FF when he's used to a "big breakfast!" :o
