I’m so confused. Lipase is in normal range does not indicate his pancreas is functioning? Could all this just be from getting the dog food
 
Lipase is not a good indicator of pancreas health in cats. There’s glucose in his urine. I think he needs to be given insulin. Maybe start at 0.10 and see the response. See what Wendy thinks. @Wendy&Neko

Oh ok. I’ll wait to hear from Wendy. I gotta go look that the dose instructions again. I’ve dumb all this from my mind it seams
 
It's been a week since the dog food? It would be well out of his system by now. However, it could be that it overwhelmed his pancreas. We do suggest that people keep their cats on low carb food when in remission. I've seen a couple other cats fall out of remission when temporarily had access to higher carb food.

It might be a good idea to also start a new spreadsheet tab for 2022. Instructions here. If that's beyond your computer skills, we have people who can help. We also have a tab on the spreadsheet which is a good place to enter lab values. I found it really useful for spotting trends, and even set up lab spreadsheets for the non diabetics.

As for dose, will you be around to monitor closely? Typically cats coming back from remission can get as high or just above their previous breakthrough dose, which was 1.0 units for Oreo. So there's a good chance he will need to higher than the starting dose, but I would start him lower than 1.0 units. The sooner he starts back on insulin, the better. The faster we can get him regulated, the better the chances for a second remission.

Yes he ate the dog food 6/30. I’ll fire up the laptop and set up the spreadsheet for 2022 in a bit. Also fill out the labs. The spreadsheet meeps crashing on my phone. I’m working from home so I will be able to monitor him test and dose him.
