I hope everyone had a great day yesterday, a fantastic Caturday! I know I sure did. I have wanted to take my DD and DSIL up to Snoqualmie pass, to a loop hike Nicholas and I do during the summer, when the snows have cleared. This weekend proved to be the time to go. I offered, she accepted, so off we went: Erin, Nicholas, William, and I. DSIL had to work, but I suspect that Erin will get him up there soon. She really enjoyed the location, can see how it would work for them YAY!!!! Here is what I wrote in last night's post about our day: "HI everyone! Been a gorgeous day here today, once we got rid of the morning clouds. Very sunny, warm and just plain great up at Snoqualmie Pass today. Our hike was so nice, and I think all had a good time. Pond was GORGEOUS! Nicholas guy was in his element, got his fill of rock throwing, stick tossing and lake gazing. It always amazed me when he does that: stands there and just stares, for the longest time. The mountains reflect in a clear lake: beautiful! He's come to love the beauty of the mountains too. It is cool to see him just watching it all. Erin loved the place, and vows to come back when they need just a morning, or a day, away. William had his first hike, came along for the ride, and did very well. Nicholas made us stop now and then so he could make sure that William was OK. He is like Nicholas was at that age: fit right in. we had a great time!" Here's the link to the Picassa photos (one video is in the mix to): Family Day at Gold Creek Pond, and some that I took via my phone: Gold Creek Pond These two photos are ones Erin took of Nicholas and I while out on our adventure:
I was also able to spend some time at my DD's place before and after our adventure. it was nice to spend some time with William. I don't get to see him often, so this was nice. I look forward, in a way, to when both boys will come on my days to have them: able to spend more time then! That should be i a couple of months: 9/1 I think.... As crazy as that time will be, still will be worth it. Anyways.... I took a few more photos (DUH!) of William, and Nicholas, as we got things ready to go. Lucky folks there: blueberry pancake for breffis! Nicholas cooked them too, with mom's help. Love that kid! Here's the Picassa link: William, Nicholas, and Erin
On the furkids front.... I have a faucet drinker!!!! In all my days of having cats I never have had a faucet drinker.... Three guesses as to who it is..... DRUM ROLL!!!..... LOLA!!!
well duh huh.  I had left it running while I went to get something to wash off, and turn around to see her with her tongue out lapping up the stream of water.    She then dipped her paw in it and washed her face. Of course I was cameraless. so..... ran to the room to get it, came back to see her still there, and took two hasty really bad photos: The Faucet Drinker Bug is chillin' with me as I write this, a lap cat. YaHOO! He does remind me alot of Mannie in some ways. Another very mellow dude. Elsa continues to be Elsa, our matriarch. She's taken over the nanner pile of late. It is nice to see her using what Mannie so dearly loved. I will laugh - on Lola, came home yesterday to find her sitting in the middle of one of my house plants. Nothing is off limits for her. nothing....
Have a great day everyone, Today is catchup day for me, since I played yesterday, had Nicholas the days before, hiked before that... amazing what can build up in a week... so: shopping, errands, laundry, cleaning, bills.... all the really fun stuff. not. nope. no way. but! gotta do them! I will hope for a walk/trek through the woods to the shore sometime during the day, YAY!
KITTIES!: Think BLUE!!, Think GREEN!!
