7/7 Lexi AMPS 192 after weeks of 300-400s0

Hi everyone, this is my first time posting to the Lantus forum. After 3 weeks on insulin creeping up from 1U, we are now at 2U and she is the lowest AMPS I've ever seen after a full night steadily and gradually coming down from 350 to where we are now.

Just fed 7% carbs and she ate a little (not much) - glucose has been hanging in 190s for half an hour. Waiting to see if pattern changes because I know we do not shoot under 200.

Should I give her ANY AM shot??

Any idea why this new pattern has shown up? It is the second time in past week under new higher dose.

I didn't shoot yet... glucose has been steady for past almost two hours between 190 and 210. She is super bouncy and we have to go on a car trip today too, which might elevate levels.

I'm only one hour past regular shot time right now, and nervous about a full 2U because of trip. Maybe 1U if it stays steady or rises in next 15 min? I've only been doing this for 3 weeks so still in the very nervous phase. Thank you so much!

How soon before you leave on your car trip?
How long is the trip?
Will you be able to monitor?
How long since he ate?
Can you get another test?

We leave in 3-4 hours. She only ate a tiny bit at 8am & then went to take a nap. I can monitor a little bit (we have Libre, but I'm driving).

Ah!! The upward march has just started! We went from 195 to 230 over past 5-10 min. I think I feel comfortable with 1U now & will do that... worried about my ability to catch a hypo in the car since sleeping on trips is desirable.

Thank you Angela!
