Good evening, L&LL,

The last few days have been hectic and I haven't been on the board at all. We had a houseguest for 3 days, and we had this awful heat wave for over a week. It was not fun trying to cope and to entertain in that weather. Poor Rusty really suffered. He camped out by the various fans and looked awful. He didn't eat well, didn't walk well, seemed miserable. In fact, we were sure he was sending the message that he was ready to depart for the Bridge, and even made a vetty appointment for this afternoon. But the cool weather revived him and we canceled the appointment. We were so dreading it--not knowing whether we were doing the right thing. But Rusty clearly told us he wanted to stay here: he ate all of his breakfast and lunch, hopped up onto the table to dine with us, enjoyed some outdoor time, and his disposition was good. What a relief! So our guy lives to fight another day.

Wishing everyone a good weekend and sending vines to all in need.

I'm so relieved to hear Rusty rallied...that darn heat...and while wearing a full length fur coat no less! Maybe get a portable A/C for him? Poor baby...
Glad to hear it's cooler and he's feeling like his old self again :) :bighug::bighug:

So glad Rusty rallied! :bighug::bighug::bighug:

The heat has been terrible; all my cats have lost their appetites and are just stretched out in any cool spot they can find. I'm on the East Coast and the humidity here is just awful, too, like trying to breathe under water! Ugh.

Stay cool, LagoonMeister Rusty, and don't get too close to the sharks! :cat:

I don't think I would let how he feels on those hot days influence me that he's ready..... I'd try to keep the faith that it's just a crappy day .
No one likes being too hot....

I used to use those frozen blue ice things , kept a few in rotation, to put in the car seat when my son was little..... that car seat was awful hot without adding a summer hot day too. It made sitting in it, or even my own seat so much better.

Maybe you could try laying a blue ice on his favorite spots to lay down.... and move him to the cooler one every few hours.....
see if it makes him happier....
even setting one in between yourself and a fan makes a nice breeze....

cool scritches ...
