7/6 Musette PMPS 331, found the cause, sneaky dog cookie!

I have no clue where that number came from, just when I think I can predict what she is going to do she throws me a curve ball. So today we run a curve and see if she is bouncing from going lower than what I'm catching.

Other than that number she is fiesty, happy, purring and eating like a little pig. We did have a really bad thunderstorm last night, with high howling winds, lots of thunder & lightning.

Good morning.
Any chance it was a fur shot last night? The other thing I usually consider when numbers seem out of whack is the age of the insulin.

Your other biggest problem I see is that you are trying to predict what you kitty does......when do they ever do what we want them to do. :lol:

I'm not sure how much more you can test! I think Musette just wanted to reassure you that her liver was working just fine! We're all very happy to see her liver is doing it's job. Please let her know she doesn't need to show us this again.

It happens! They throw you a red or black and then it is gone just as quick. Hope you have a wonderful day!

Her insulin is new, considering I just opened it the day I got her and we only adopted her on the 25th of June. I don't think it was a fur shot but anything is possible. And then again she is a cat and a tortie afterall. She was pretty ticked off at me this morning for making her wait on her breakfast until it was time to test and shoot.

I will be sure to tell her that we are all very happy that her liver is working fine, now please stop showing us.. :lol: I do have to wonder if it isn't reacting to hitting those blues and greens because it looks like from her past vet records her body hasn't seen many of those since she was dxed back in March. Since there are several notes in her records where her vet chewed out her owner for not giving her insulin on a consistant basis. So it is also possible that her body is a little freaked out by starting to hit fairly normal levels.

Okay so today she decides to drop after eating, just to keep me guessing what she is going to do when the insulin kicks in at about +3-+4. Oh why can't she be easy like Maxwell <sigh> Oh that's right she is a tortie girl :lol:

Don't assume that Lantus onset will be at +3 or thereafter. Take a look at Gabby's SS. Her numbers can drop early (+1 or +2 ). It's an ECID thing. Also, you don't always know if your PS may be a dropping number.

Well I know today at least that her ps# wasn't a dropping number as she went up to 516 at +1. Yes, normally she ether comes up slightly after eating or drops dramatically by +2, but right now if there is a pattern to what she will do when I'm missing it. Other than she would spike up with fireworks. About the only pattern I have with her is that is no guessing on what she will do or when.

The weirdest thing is she is the happiest I've seen her since she got here today, and she is running way high. Maxwell I can predict like clockwork, even though he is otj, if he is in the high 80s he is grumpy and being nasty to everyone, and about to hack up a hairball, in the 50s -60s he is loving life and playing and friendly. Musette seems to be the reverse, low blues and greens she is the hissy queen, in the blacks and reds Miss Friendly and cuddle bug. She is determined to be a challenge.

Aha I finally predicted something correctly with her...rofl. We have yellow at +4, come on baby girl..give mom a blue at +5, I know you can do it.

Well I at least feel fairly certain that she will be high enough to shoot at her PMPS, although the way the day has gone maybe I should stop trying to predict when she is going to throw me the next curve ball. <sigh>

I think I know what caused her spike in numbers today...2 words...Milk Bone. I found piece of one under the dog's bed tonight with little kiity chew marks, and since I know Maxwell and Lady Jane won't go within 100 miles of them, it had to be Musette that chewed on it. King must have had it in his mouth when we went to bed last night and I didn't see him carrying it. I usually check to make sure he isn't carrying contraban into the bedroom but missed it last night. Now to wait until the carbs clear her system and we should be back on track...and no more dog cookies eaten in the house.

OMG that's totally funny! I'm so glad you found the milk bone and not some health problem. She'll be back to her normal BG in no time!
