 is back in town. It appears that the patience pants have done their trick! Now, let's just hold it, 'K, Trix?

DH and I are off to the beach today...there's another fabulous veggie restaurant in Belmar, then up to Asbury, just 'cause I like to "be" where Bruce has "been". Since we'll have to be home in time for PMPS, no beach tags today...no biggie, though, it's nice just to be near the ocean.

Have a grea day, everyone!

Amy

Whoa, Trixster, turn that around! Was the beach fun? It's not my favorite place, too much sand.

That's more like it, Trix!

We did have fun today, but it was a very quick trip "down the shore", as we say here in Jersey. We had a very nice lunch at the vegan restaurant in Belmar, then headed up to Asbury Park for a short visit. Since we had to be home by PMPS (5:00), there was no point in buying beach tags, so we just walked the boardwalk and had a couple beers on the pier. It was beastly hot!! I used to go to Asbury when I was a kid...when the "casino" that Bruce sings about was still alive and kicking. I always like to go back there every few years...it's sort of a Bruce pilgrimage for me. The town really crumbled for a while since my childhood, but is now under some pretty intense revitlization. It's not the same as it was "back then", but it's great to see it coming back to life.

Oh, Amy, my DS and I were just remembering our childhood the other day, when we went to Asbury Park. My parents always took us there. My DS and DBL were there a few weeks ago. I haven't been for many years. I asked how it was doing, I knew Asbury Park was supposed to be revitalized, but then 2008 happened and I didn't know what happened, I thought they stopped, but my DS said it looks a little better, but not all. I loved that big old building that had the carousel in it. Yup a ton of memories, and yes, Bruce, what would Asbury be without Bruce!

Not so bad Trixie, maybe she just wanted you to have a fun day so you wouldn't be too worried about her.

Very nice Trix but come back down a bit. We love you in green!

What a lovely day! I'm glad you got out and enjoyed the ocean.

Exciting news from Northbridge, Western Australia. We don't actually have a vegan restaurant yet but one of the cafes has started serving a few raw vegan dishes :-D :-D :-D . I've tried the laksa - all limely and full of fresh coriander with 'noodles' made from spiralized zucchini, carrot and coconut :-D :-D :-D and the pizza which has a base that requires a three day process to dehydrate seeds, red onion etc. (I don't really know what goes on but the result is awesome :-D ) topped with delights like fresh basil leaves, sundried tomato, marinated olives and, wait for it - macadamia nut 'cheese'. Although now that I've typed that I think I'm recalling that you have a nut issue - doh! I'm still not taking it back, it's too delicious to delete :-D :-D

Sending scritches for Trixie.
