ohmygod_smile ohmygod_smile I just never know when R is going to decide to work or not. It appears as though today is one of those days  . I'm glad I'll be here to put the brakes on if need be!!

Yesterday right before dusk, my husband and I returned a rather large snapping turtle to a creek we have on our property. We are assuming that the flash flooding we had here on Sunday may have caused his arrival. I tried to be kind and turn him away from the road but no sooner had I walked away that he would turn right back around and head that way. So, we decided to get a cart that we use for hauling leaves and grass cuttings and put him in there and took him back to the creek. Given how long it probably took him to get to where he was when we found him, he was a little more than ticked off at me. Oh well, it sure beats finding him on our road. Now he at least has a little better chance at a longer life than he might have had.
I hope that all of you had a wonderful 4th..
Hugs from Me and the Gang!! :YMHUG:

The snapper may be looking for some sandy soil to lay her eggs in. Up here they are all over the roads at egg-laying time. It is terrible to see them squashed by cars.

Tommy, don't go too low now!

Disaster averted for now!! Whewwwww.... Thank you Tommy..
Yeah Ella, if in deed it is a she that could be what she's wanting to do.. so we headed her back to where she could find some. I sure hope he/she's ok!
Tommy heard you too, thanks for the nudge :-D

Hi Squirrel, really cool in returning the turtle to his safe place where he started. You must live out in the country, lucky you. Wow on Tommy's numbers! Have a nice day.
