looks like another difficult day with Lil' Queen.

last night she would not eat after the shot...... her new normal.
She had 6 options..... I wanted her to eat something before going to bed but I was having a hard time staying awake. I laid on the bath rug with her and she at least wanted her ears scratched. And worried that we were reaching the end point.
I decided to try some baby food which she never ever will eat. I just bought a turkey one just in case.

I opened the jar and she licked the top.. and then she would lick it off the spoon. She ate half of the tiny jar.
So I went to bed after that, hoping her cypro would inspire more eating.
She ate the equivalent of 3 oz of med carb in the night that I can confirm.... she might have taken a bite out of her other options.
This morning, overslept, who wouldn't? it's 10:30 and i wish I could btb but I have a few hours of work today since I disappeared yesterday.

re-starting the budesonide today..... no more gengraf.

going to try to get that july 4 pic that I want her to star in....
healing vines to all of the ailing....
prayers for our troops and our country....
and for our Wendy and Steve losing their furbabies.....

Sometimes I wish they weren't just so cat-like!

I'm glad she ate for you, Rhiannon. Even if it was a struggle to find the "right" taste.

And more and more and more vines for Shadow...and her bean.

Prayers and vines for Shadow and you, Rhiannon. I can imagine how worrisome it is when she won`t eat. Kitties can be so finicky. Please Shadow, your friend Lulu wants you to eat!
I`m looking forward to the 4th of July picture starring Shadow -- hope you can get one and post it for us to enjoy. And I echo your sentiments...prayers for our troops and our countries, as our brave men and women sacrifice so much in order to try to eradicate the evil in this world.
 
Lil' Queen wasn't enthralled but I got an acceptable pic..... not quite as good as the one I posted on memorial day that wasn't actually of Shadow. heh heh

i made sure to turn off the flash.... because that seems to make her frown.

she ate the other bit of baby food.... and i'm still trying....
i'm hoping maybe the budesonide will inspire some appy.
 
I love the picture. Shadow is so beautiful. I'm glad she's eating something for you. I hope her appy gets better.

I totally understand the stress of trying to get her to eat. I have had similar experiences with food they didn't like before. That's why I don't give away my supply until I've tried many, many times.

I hope the budesonide works for her and that her appy gets better. Sending vines.

Love the "are you done yet?!" glare from Shadow. Happy 4th Rhiannon - hope you are doing something fun, or at least eating well.

Saw your post on the Mauri fuds - goat is another reasonably common raw fud here. I've tried it with the kids and it was acceptable. But ECID. More appy vines on their way. Good luck with the old/new meds regime.
 
well I found something she would eat alright......
should have looked at the chart first.....
friskies select indoors classic chicken and turkey casserole with brown rice and greens.... says it's 30% carbs....:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:

i had one can in the back closet from her first bout of insulin ( 2012) for a high carb in case she ever needed it.
She used to eat it all the time back when before initial dx....
tested her before I fed it.... 82 ... i'll test again after 1 hour and we'll see how much she goes up from it.

she always gives me the "no pictures!" face..... and i even turned off the flash so her eyes would be open. :oops:
 
Not surprised that Shadow likes the Friskies Selects!! They all seem to love that high carb food, don't they?

Love the picture...even with the "no pictures" face....She's a good sport for holding still long enough for you to snap the picture!!

Now...to see how high that yummy food sends her! (but at least you know she's got a full tummy tonight!);)

Whoa on the Friskies! No wonder she liked it. :eek::woot: Sometimes I just think it is important that they eat, no matter the carbs, when one has a kitty with appy issues. Ran into that with Mannie. Tried all sorts of foods, but the HC was what he would eat... so it was what he got.

Food is food when it comes to situations like this, if that's all she'll eat then bring it on, you can adjust the insulin accordingly if you need to. I'm so glad she had a good feed :joyful:
 
the spike wasn't too bad... went from 100 to 134 and I forgot that i had given her the budesonide so that may also be at play a bit. It raised her some before when she was on it.

we went to a party for a short bit.... and we usually sit there after dark to watch the town fireworks but
ds invited us to come up where he was and he introduced his "girlfriend". :woot:
he's 23, she's 29 but we're okay with it. She's very nice.
we kinda knew he was interested in her, but he had to wait a week plus to formally announce it.
since we got in at 10 pm ( super late for us) , I opted to not shoot since Shadow isn't likely to eat
especially now that she had that super high carb food. Everything will be unappealing , I'm sure.
 
I love her picture! One if my go to foods for Max when he won't eat U.S. Soulistic a Triple Harmony but he only gets it if he needs hc now as its around 25% or more. I was feeding that if he had a pancreatitis attack before FD.

Sending mega appy vines- please eat Shadow!!! I hope now that gengraf is out of the picture things will start to change! Eat your fuds little girl- have you tried baby food ham as Elise said? If she likes bacon she might like the stronger flavoring in ham?

It took my son 2 years before we finally got to meet his gf! :rolleyes: Glad you had a nice visit with the fam!

I have several jars of the ham.... she's had two in the last year and she showed no interest. I did just put in in a dish....
didn't try a spoon so that may happen tomorrow.
She prefers lunch meat ham.... ( of course) .... maybe she just doesn't like bland.....


hmmm... how to photoshop on Shadow's dark hair.....

If you e mail me that pic, or if you don't mind me downloading yours that you posted, I think I can get her painted red white and blue LOL!
