Well, the enzymed food seems to be going alright. The ravenous hunger seems to be in check. He won't eat the whole thing, but he'll usually go back and pick at it over the next several hours. Unfortunately I haven't been able to keep his BG under 300 since he started on the enzymes and just checked PMPS and we're at 473 :( highest it's been since his last hospitalization. Ketones aren't crazy yet (0.6), but I'll be watching him very closely this cycle. If the .25uR I just gave him can't get this under control, I'm afraid that dose will need to go up. Any thoughts on that @Sandy and Black Kitty @Wendy&Neko

My wife caught Henry trying to post on here last night. He also managed to turn down my screen brightness and it took me 10 minutes to figure out how to turn it back up.

You are doing great at managing Henry :bighug: the most important i hope you feel more in control of his ketones, which give you time to regulate him.

let’s see if you will be advices to increase Lantus and if you do, good luck with that :bighug:

I’m glad he’s eating some of the enzyme food. You soon will get the recommended enzymes in the mail (tomorrow?) I’m seeing quite a few times where R is given on his spreadsheet and then not seeing tests in the subsequent hours. Hopefully his ketones will be not bad this morning. Darcy’s ketones started coming down before his BG numbers did.

John, I am so glad you have learned about the EPI, so you can help Henry further. Poor little guy! He was eating for a 15 -20 pound middle aged cat and still starving.
I pray that you keep up the energy you need to get results both you and Henry deserve. And all my cats are very hopeful. One eats 5 ounces of food a day and still weighs 13 lbs.

Just an idea or two:
Increase the Lantus like Marina mentioned?
Give subQ at least every other day while his BGs are so high?
@Sandy and Black Kitty What do you think?

Well despite all the reds and pinks the ketones actually went down! At 7/5's AMPS ketones were only .3. I think the enzymes are mostly responsible for this since his body isn't needing to burn up tissue for energy that he's now getting through his food.

Thank you. Yes, I'm very happy the ketone situation seems to be getting under control.

I hope the enzymes will make it here tomorrow, but these OTC ones seem to be doing the job pretty well. I also ordered some #3 gel caps to put the enzymes in since I think he'll eat more food if he's not tasting the enzymes. Things have been a little crazy around here the last couple days so I haven't got as many tests in following the R doses. Luckily the libre records a lot of that information and you can see the drop on the graph about a half hour after the shot but then about 2-3 hours later it just goes back up to where it was. I'll try and post some pictures of the graph.

Yes, he's lost so much weight in the last month and a half (from 7lbs down to 5lbs) I'm not sure he would even have been able to make it if the EPI hadn't been discovered and treated. He was eating 15oz of FF a day and still was losing weight. He's been getting in about 10oz of the enzymed food the last 2 days so hopefully he'll keep that up. Yes, I really think a Lantus dose increase is in order. Would love some input on that from folks. I've considered doing the subQ more but his ketones aren't that bad and when they have gotten up he's cleared them relatively quickly. He's also been drinking a lot the last few days. Not sure if that's because of the high BG or the enzymed food. But for the electrolytes alone a subQ now and then probably isn't a bad idea.

Not a bad result from the .25 R today. A little more than 100 in 4 hours but I would still take it. Sorry for all the pinks now.

Yeah, it seems to help for a bit. I'll post some graphs from the libre later so people can get a better idea of the drop and rebound.

Or was Henry trying to order himself a nice steak or something else online haha. Smart kitty! Good job Henry!
He was putting in a Chewy order for Temptations!
Gotta get those carbs somehow!

Looks like it might be time to setup some parental controls and change the chewy password.

I agree on the increase, he has failed this reduction, I would go back to 2.0 units of the Lantus.

Thanks for the input Wendy. I'll bop it up next cycle.
