7/4/2022 Oreo AM +3 252 ?butter popcorn smell? will be calling the vet tomorrow

Oreo was meowing for food this am around 5am I didn’t sleep well at all so I was only able to feed him and the others. Checked 3 hours later and we I’m glad to see him come down from mid 300s. I will call the vet tomorrow to get him in for blood work and check his teeth.

i put popcorn in the subject because I just recalled something the other day, the day I decided to test him. There was a peculiar smell that smelled like popcorn in the room where we keep the litter boxes.

Is his urine smelling sweet or like popcorn still? That can be from ketones. When I used a strip to check for Max I put Saran Wrap over the litter because he would not let me get anything under him either.

I haven’t smelled anything since. I really don’t dare mess with his box. Hes super picky with litter and skittish when he’s in the box doing his business. I do t want the Saran to spook him he’s pee’d outside the box if anything out of normal is near it. The vet will test for me

Since you have not smelled it any more I would not be too concerned. I understand about the litter box.
