WCR: Some Ps in place. So, I'm feeling a bit more optimistic today. We've got pees, 1 pretty decent poop, purrs & for the first time in several days...I caught her preening herself! Not full body, but front legs, face & chest. In fact, after she finished cleaning, she started to roll over to expose her belly!! She didn't get all the way over into her back, but it was still a positive sign. She's eating pretty well today, although I have to entice her to eat her FF & Friskies Turkey & Giblets w/ little bits of Pill pockets. She's lowering herself down to the floor when she lies down, instead of falling. She's still not 100% steady on her feet, but soooo much better.

OH...and she jumped up onto the ottoman without having to use the little step stool. She still uses the little step stool for some occasions, but I was just excited to see her back legs were strong enough to propel her all the way up! She won't join me in bed at bedtime and still sleeps in the hallway, but I hope that changes soon. I still have so many questions about what's really going on with her, but for the time being, I'm just happy for the little steps forward.

I think I should skip her fluids today because she's still a big squishy in her front legs from Wednesday & Thursdays fluids. Does that sound right? Also, does anyone know if p'titis "affects" one side more than the other? Like, would she be more tender on the right side or left side or underneath or none/all of the above? Ok, off to pet more...I am such a helicopter mama!!!! Thank you, all, again and again for all of your prayers, vines & support!

Sending healthy vines to all our sugar kitties and their hoomins! Blessings!

@Amy&TrixieCat - Thank you, Amy. I wonder if her strange behavior in the LB was somehow due to the Bupe and her slight loopiness. As for the heart issues, my current vet does not believe that she has a heart problem. Of course, every time I take Shasta in she has to be sedated. I always ask about her heart and according to the vet, it always sounds fine which must mean that she doesn't have a heart condition. Or does it mean that the medicine is doing its job?! I stopped giving her the medication mid-June because she got soured on it and wouldn't eat her fuds. Just last week, I picked up some fresh medicine, in a new flavor, and started her on it, but then she got sick and then I got sick...so, we really didn't start it back up until she took a turn for the worse this week. All of this makes me wonder if she threw a small clot at the beginning of the week.

@Tricia & Cinco - I keep looking for a magic wand when I go thrift store shopping, but haven't come across one that actually works. If I find one, I'll let everyone know and we'll pass it around the FD world! :p

@Michelle and Mannie (GA) - thank you!! Lap time with my girl is the best!

@Tiger(GA) and Ruth - Thanks for all the vines!! Both of us have been suffering from serious allergies attacks all year! It's unreal down here. Between the two of us, I get the headaches, sneezes, drainage and she's got the watery eyes, drippy nose & sneezes. This has been pretty consistent since February. :(

@Wendy&Neko - so much better! :cat:

Yes, you made the right decision to skip the fluids if she still has a pooch from previous squids. Before administering fluids, you should always check for that. Good catch!

I'm so glad Shasta is doing better today. Sending lots more healing and appy vines for continued improvement.

This all sounds so good....we're still piling on prayers! As Tricia said, good call on skipping fluids...you don't want to administer fluids if she hasn't fully absorbed previous fluids. Welcome to the Helicopter Club! I hope you continue to see improvements...
