Yesterday's Condo

Darn! I was so sure we were going to see a lagoon visit last night, but if Cinco dipped his toe in, he pulled it out again before I tested him again! Oh well, at least he got close and so we held off on the threatened dosecrease. He was in blue this morning, too, so we'll ride this out a little longer.

We are at UCD at the moment. Cinco is past due for his Oncology recheck. He's sitting in the stroller complaining right now. I can't carry two cats at once, with my foot, so Sasha was in her carrier and I put Cinco, who is 3-4 pounds heavier, in the stroller. I love this thing! So much easier than a carrier. One drawback is you have to transfer the cat from the carrier to the stroller when you reach your destination, since the stroller folds down to go in the car. It works for us.

I just can't help but wonder if he might have gone lower had we stayed home, but I imagine anxiety will keep him up while we're here. One of the nice things about Cinco is I can feed him before car travel and he doesn't get car sick (anti-jinx), so he ate well this morning.

Harvey threw up clear, thick liquid this morning. I'm thinking he's having an acid stomach. Does that sound right? I gave him a pepcid, which he ate in a pill pocket without hesitation, so I don't think his tummy feels bad. He only ate about half his breakfast, but that was more because it wasn't one of his favorite flavors than anything else.

Well, the student assigned to Cinco just came out to interview me and took him back for his tests, so I'm excused for 1-1.5 hours. I think I'm going to go get a sandwich.

Sending healing vines to all in need, and hugs to all their beans. Thoughts and prayers continue to go to Lucy and Mariko. :YMHUG: :YMHUG:

Re: 7/31 Cinco AMPS 222 +3 147

I think I would have retested at PM +2 and see if I got a 99....LOL

It's really crazy how successful we feel if they get a 99 compared to a 100 isn't it?

Be good for the vets Cinco! We want to hear nothing but good news after it's all done!

Sending lots of good vetty vines your way!

Hey Cinco! I haven't decided if I'm going for a dip tonight or not yet...you know how it is...gotta keep the bean guessing! ~ China

Re: 7/31 Cinco AMPS 222 +3 147

Gotta check my watch - looks like an early Cinco condo. Tons of good vetty vines for both your cats today. :YMHUG:

Today's cycle does look like a pretty good one for Cinco. I hate those cycles like last night where they just give you BG's of 100 or thereabout but no green. When I retest the second test is always higher. At least it's in normal number range.

My civie Theo will sometimes do the clear liquid vomit thing when he's got a hairball brewing. Just another possibility for Harvey.

Re: 7/31 Cinco AMPS 222 +3 147

Good vetty vines headed your way! I get all kinds of clear and sometimes foamy voms when someone has a hairball coming, as Wendy mentioned. This is pretty much a daily sight at our place  Hope it's something simple like that for Harvey.

Re: 7/31 Cinco AMPS 222 +3 147 Oncology Checkup Results

Thanks for stopping by, Chris, Wendy, Elise and Kim.

Chris I did think about retesting, but like Wendy, I figured I'd get a higher number!

Wendy, I knew everyone would be shocked to see such an early condo from me! There was a gap between Sasha's drop off time and Cinco's appointment, so I brought my tablet and figured I might as well get the condo done! Don't get used to it! ;-)

Kim & Wendy, Harvey doesn't get hairballs. He has very short hair and he does shed a lot, but I've never seen him hack up a hairball. Paws crossed it wasn't anything to worry about....

The good vetty vines worked! Cinco's BW was all good. BG was 191, which the doctor said was great for a diabetic (a little high for me, but stress is sure to be a factor). His exam revealed nothing unusual - lymph nodes were all normal, etc. The doctor said she would be comfortable waiting 3 months for his next recheck, unless I notice something that concerns me. She said the further we get from the tumor removal with no signs of the lymphoma returning, the more optimistic we can be. :-D :-D :-D

Sasha won't be ready to go home for about another 45 minutes, so we are hanging out in the waiting room, and Cinco is entertaining/annoying everyone with his complaints.

Re: 7/31 Cinco AMPS 222 +3 147

I hope you get good test results back for Cinco. That's nice you can feed him before he travels. I hope the Pepcid helps Harvey's tummy and things go well with Sasha today.

Re: 7/31 Cinco AMPS 222 +3 147

Great to see Cinco's good report, Tricia. Hope Sasha had a good session.

Sounds like a busy day for you. Have a good evening,

Ella & Rusty

Re: 7/31 Cinco AMPS 222 +3 147

Wonderful news!! Where was Cinco's tumor? I must have missed that one. How long ago? Boy you have been juggling a lot. Long day for you too.

Re: 7/31 Cinco PMPS 267

Thanks for the visits, Wendy, Carla, Melissa, Ella and Elise.

Sasha did well in her penultimate radiation session. She ate well afterward and gave them a nice, healthy poo (apparently she's been so gifting them every day, which explains why there have been no deposits from her in our boxes). She was quiet on the ride home, but Cinco more than made up with it as he complained the entire drive. He hadn't eaten since breakfast, so I gave him a handful of FD salmon as soon as we got home, which he inhaled.

Cinco ate his dinner with enthusiasm and accepted seconds gratefully. Harvey did likewise. I fed Harvey in small amounts, spread out, and he seems to have kept it down. I was thinking about trying SEB for him, but he didn't like the taste the one time I did sprinkle it on his food. Attempting to syringe anything into him is taking one's life in one's hands.

Elise, Cinco had a tumor removed, along with his right eye, in March. It was diagnosed as lymphoma, but there was no evidence that it had spread. After discussing his situation with an oncologist at UCD, we opted not to do chemo - we had finally gotten his FD under control, and he was doing so well overall. The chemo would have thrown his numbers for a loop. Our current plan is to watch him for any sign of a problem and get regular rechecks at UCD at the intervals they advise. It's working so far!

Re: 7/31 Cinco PMPS 267 Oncology Visit results

Now I remember mention of a tumor of the eye but didn't realize that it was lymphoma. Great report. Boy that lymphoma can show up anywhere I guess.

Re: 7/31 Cinco PMPS 267 Oncology Visit results

Hi Tricia, that is such good news about Cinco's exam, what a big relief! And 193 is darned good considering vet stress! Glad to hear Sasha is doing well also, so it sounds like all kitties ate well and pooped - a great day! Hope that you are feeling well!

Re: 7/31 Cinco PMPS 267 Oncology Visit results

Hope you all have a great weekend together.
