Please be thinking about and praying for Claudia and Rocket. They need all our thoughts and prayers today.

Simon's AMPS is coming down slightly every day so that is a good sign. Last night, he even was 83 before bed! Everything is normal with him although I did discover that he had left me a nice gift of poop yesterday after the vet visit. I only found it a few hours later because he did it on the carpet that kind of masks the poo becasue it has a pattern. Typical cat! I guess he wanted to let me know what he thought of the vet visit!

I am going to investigate the cyclosporine for Simon's ears. I know a few of you have used it with success so I am leaning toward that rather than the covenia to clear up his ear allergy. Can I buy it online or do I have to get it at the vet? I know it is fairly expensive.

I am also going to try either the cosaquin or dasaquin for his arthritis rather than the injection of adequan. Simon is walking more on the back of his legs than the top of his foot. The vet said that is a sign of some arthritis going on. I am a terrible bean because I just thought it was the normal way Simon walked and thought it was kind of cute. How unobservant I am!

Re: 7/30 Georgia's Simon AMPS 135

Morning Georgia!
'Glad Sime's #s are coming down
I don't know if it's been discussed before, but I thought walking on back of legs (hocks?) was more
an indication of neuropathy than arthritis? Have you tried B12?
I think you're right to keep Convenia as a last resort....

And no, you're a great bean :!: :!: :-D

Hi Georgia, nice AMPS and wow on the green last night, too. So funny with the poop on the carpet just to get back at you for taking him to Vetty. I know, not funny for you but funnny for us hearing about it! Good luck with what you decide on the meds for his ears. I used Cosequin for my GA kitty, and he did well on it. But I know there are newer meds for it as this was long ago. Have a nice Saturday.

Georgia:

We got the cyclosporine ointment from Wedgewood Pharmacy. Here is the link:
Cyclosporine Ointment

We had to have a prescription. I don't know about the oral med. You could ask Christie......

Glad Simon's BG is coming down. Hope Cleo is well.

Celi, loved the picture!

Marje, thanks for the link. I don't know if the vet says to use the ointment or pills but I'll talk to him on Monday. I didn't see a price on your link for the ointment but i bet it is alot less than the $120 the vet says it costs at his office.

Cleo is doing well and seems to like me giving her the fluids. She purrs through the whole process.

Beautiful numbers for Simon today :-D

I remember my Puty liked the fluids too. I think they know they feel better afterwards :-D

Georgia: the ointment was $22.00 for 3.5 grams of 0.2%. And it lasted me months putting it in her eyes every day. I'd say that's cheaper. I don't know about the pills, tho.

Hi - sorry for such a late post...

It is nice to see Simon's numbers returning to normal. What a relief that must be. Good luck with the ointment for Simon - I think it is a good decision.
