Yes, not as much testing as I would like, but we are in the middle of hosting a family reunion. I almost put off starting Star on insulin until all our visitors are gone and we're not taking everyone sightseeing, but she waited for over a month to get going already. Hooray for the ability to do small doses.

Also, we got jumpy yesterday seeing her not eat as much as usual (I think the 49 yesterday was a reflection of that) and picked up some EVO dry food (lowest carb they had -- salmon and herring). When she stopped eating a couple of weeks ago, the dry food was the first thing she wanted and we only had high carb on hand. Now we have some "better" stuff on hand if she does that to us again. I also shaved her dose a little last PM, but did the full .25u today.

Please try to get at minimum a before bed test at night.

When you are seeing blue pre-shots, you really do need to do more testing. Last night, Star could have easily been in green numbers. She's responding very well even this early on. You don't have sufficient data to know if or when Star's numbers will drop. It's important to err on the side of safety.

Will do. :-)

Star's been more energetic lately, playing games like "baseball" with us that she hasn't played in years. She must like feeling better!

what a good report - glad to see she's feeling better.

re the dry food - i saw someone suggest that you could pulverize it in the blender or food processor and use it to sprinkle on the canned food if the cat was resisting the canned food. that way you're still giving the low carb but hopefully the sprinkles will entice star to eat it!

have fun on your family reunion!
