Shadow has 4 Ps today. Due to Raja's high numbers, we all went off to the vet's and I am glad they were able to see us. He peed in his carrier...whew....he was NOT happy at the vet office at ALL! She said he had a yeast infection in his ears and gave him Zymox Otic w/o hydrocortisone. His weight has remained the same since last year and he is in need of a dental although his gums are not as inflamed as his sister's.
I had put him in his carrier and then took him out again to do the blood work. It was then that he threw a hissy fit like I have never seen. OMG...funny to me now as I think back on it. My sweet Shadow turned into a maniac. I am wondering if he had a very bad experience during his dental last year....he has never been like he was today!! Although this vet is way more expensive than the one I had been using, I am hoping that the treatment they will get during the dentals will be better and not leave them the way they were last year. Sigh. I hate dentals so much!!
Oh, and I have a funny story...speaking of money etc.the vet tech said "The doctor wants everyone to have frustosamine tests if they are diabetic before they have dentals" I whipped out a small printout of raja's recent numbers in all their colorful glory. I said "I have all her numbers taken every 4 hours for the past three years and I do not believe a frustosamine test will tell us any more than whan I already have documented". She brought the page into the doctor.
So, the doctor put her eyes back into her head and came into the examination room. She asked me if I had a life and whether so much testing stresses both me and the kitties. I said "I am not stressed and neither are they or I would NOT be doing it....it is just our routine and I know where their numbers are all day long>"
She said that we will not be needing a frustosamine test for either of them. AND, she has never seen any caregiver give as much time and effort. So, that was nice to hear. I saved some money from that....so that was good.
I must admit that Shadow has been giving me a run for my money lately and he has been really keeping me on my toes! Not sure what is going on with him. I did point out a tiny lump on his side behind his right leg and she said she could aspirate it now or when he is under during the dental. I said I would prefer if she could just remove it during the dental....so we will deal with that then. It has not changed in size or anything in quite a few weeks....it's very tiny....like a pea. Fingers crossed that it is just a little unimportant cyst. :-|
So, we had an exciting afternoon....no wonder I feel tired, right? LOL Lots going on around here kids...been so busy but had to update today to let you all what's cooking...hugs to everyone!
