Good day!

We began our day with no real changes in numbers. I did notice a slightly downward trend yesterday, but not significant enough to really say her numbers are getting lower. This is day 2 of her dose increase.

Just be patient. Lantus takes a lot of patience!! Given that Morgaine's nadir is in the blues, you'll need to give this dose 10 cycles to evaluate it's effectiveness.

Thanks and yes, I know I have to give this 10 full cycles. She did have a lovely 142 at +4 today before I fed her. That is a nice drop from her AMPS of 207. As long as I see some of those lower numbers I am encourasged and I know we are looking for trends, not specific numbers. My numbers can fluctuate by 30 on the same meter with 2 different tests 1 minute apart so I understand that must also be factored in.

Yes, she is named after the character in Marion Zimmer Bradley's The Mists of Avalon. It is one of my favorite books.

Sometimes we call her Gainie and she is also known as Noodles since she was caught red handed one morning with a ripped open bag of egg noodles on the kitchen floor. She was batting them all over the place and just enjoying herself, lol!

In yesterday's condo you mentioned feeding Morgaine at +8. FWIW, usually, we discourage feeding after nadir. Since the latter part of the cycle has little insulin available to offset the effect of food, it's often better to provide meals during the earlier part of the cycle.

So what you are saying is that I should probably feed her 3 times betwwen shot and +6. She would have to make a major adjustment as she is programmed for that +8 feeding. Let me see how to work on that one. As numbers come down, does that actually matter that much? I do see what you are saying. Poor kitty loves her meals and likes them spread out. I do give a snack sometimes at +6 so maybe I can just make that a meal. Is there anything written about feeding schedules etc?

Morgaine, for the very first time, gave me a really hard time with her shot. I usually give it while she eats and this time she got very upset as I tried to pinch her skin up and she began growling at me. I finally got it done after pricking myself with the needle and then she pulled away but I am pretty sure I got the shot in, bent the needle in the process but checked it later with some water and it still worked.

Do many give the shot while they eat or wait until they are done? She seemed pretty oblivious of it until now.
