Good morning and Happy Sunday pre 4th of July!!! Wishing congratulations to Garfunkel and Phil OTJ!!!!! Thinking of Roni as she faces the onslaught of a houseful of relatives!! :lol:

Gracie had a lovely blue surf last night...thank you baby girl for letting me get some sleep in between tests and not scaring the holy carp out of me by giving me a 30 during the night :lol: She's feeling Gracie wonderful today and she and Tobey helped Mike and me flip the mattress...and I mean that literally :lol: :lol: ....keeps it firm in the right places. Looks like she has a busy day in store for me but that's ok....I had no plans to go out anyway and I'm happy to see her in green. I started her on 10% since she had a drop between +10 and AMPS. She has become quite the expert at getting treats out of the puzzle box. And she surprised me with a morning LB prezzie of the solid variety so all appears to be good in Gracieland.

Note to newbies: please do not shoot a dropping number until you have TONS of data, intend on very closely monitoring, and know how your kitty reacts to food management. Shooting a dropping number can be dangerous. You'll see on Gracie's SS that we have alot of data and I actually had a cycle like this with her just a few days ago.

How long will your man be gone this time? I hope it's a short one..

Well it may have been short lived after all. Last time she was dropping from +10 to PMPS and gave me the same PMPS, I gave her 10% from PMPS through +3 and she had a gorgeous cycle...none of that continued wild dropping. Oh wow, beautiful day for Gracie. Yes, today is a good one to stay home. I ran out to Target to look at cameras, and it was so nice, no crowds. I think all are at the beach. Enjoy your day! That was so nice of Gracie and Tobey to help you and Mike flip the mattress. I had a kitty that used to love to jump under the top sheet just as I was about to place it. I just left him there to take his nap. :lol: Have a nice day,

Yes, it's always a mistake to say you "know" your kitty...do that, and they WILL throw a curve ball your way :lol: :lol: ! Heck, even thinking it isn't a good plan, because they can read our minds! Kitties are just so magical in every way imaginable!

I meant to get back to this long ago but a good friend called and is coming over for dinner/movie in an hour and so I've been really busy trying to get stuff ready. How do my Sundays always get away from me?

Good news: it's raining!!

Bad news: Gracie went up!!! :YMSIGH: :YMSIGH: :? :? Too many carbs? I don't know...who knows!!!

Ann (Maggie): glad you got to Target...I need to do that!! Don't those kitties always love to help change the sheets!!

Amy: well...she didn't. :smile: Maybe tonight. You are so right. From now on I'm going to use reverse psychology on her!!!

Ann (Tess): I love green PSs too esp when they are this good. I would have rather dealt with nice green numbers even if I was busy!!

Question: Is there a way to tell between clearing a bounce and a late nadir? Gracie often slides into PMPS when she is clearing a bounce and then I have to bring her up before onset. But I know some kitties have a late nadir and I wonder if that is what she was doing here and why she went up instead of coming back down. Is there any way to tell so that I don't give her carbs early on? Because if she is dropping from clearing a bounce, I have to get her up before she onsets or she really drops. Any ideas to help me manage this are greatly appreciated.

What I've seen with kitties that have a late nadir is that it is much more consistently at the end of the cycle. Comparatively speaking, there aren't that many kitties with late nadirs. Jill or Libby have seen more SSs than I have and may be better able to answer your question but my impression is that while there may be some variability, a late nadir kitty is much more consistent in having a nadir close to pre-shot.

well bummer on the rise - who knows why - Mannie will do it sometimes too. I keep telling him he is supposed to go down during a cycle, not up. :roll: It was a nice sliding cycle last night... nice amps too!

no expert here for sure, but IMHO, I agree with Sienne. I think if she was known to be a late nadir kitty you would be seeing this consistently, with a little variance. I am not sure that you are.. ?? I know with Mannie his nadir will shift between +5, +7, but it's consistently there... always. unless we are bouncing.

sorry to be so late in visiting you. bummer! I just always seem to miss your post in the morning. :roll:

Hooray for rain and the number….. well, you cam enjoy your time w/ your friend.

I think you see late nadir more w/ Lev. If Tess is low she will often have one, but nearly always rises after preshot 'till +3 or +4.

Hey Marje, I'm a bit late today, too and have no opinion/knowledge of late nadirs. Whatever! As you know, Gracie is in charge and she will do what she will do. Rusty is a bit high (for him) and flat today. Maybe a hairball brewing.
Great news that you have rain. But now all the people will come back from the beach and it will be noisy again!! Enjoy your dinner with your friend. Happy 4th of July tomorrow. Did you buy a camera? So nice that Gracie and Tobey could help you flip the mattress, I'll bet that strong Tobey could do it all by himself! Rusty is looking forward to seeing them at the party tonight.

Hi Marje!!!! Glad you're having company tonight. Hopefully, you won't miss Mike too much yet!!

I know Champ will have a day where his numbers slowly increase through the cycle after he just had a good cycle. I've always just considered it his version of a bounce. As a matter of fact, he's done this today!! I don't know if maybe Gracie is doing the same thing.
