hello everyone ! I was wondering if you could look at callie's ss an tell me what ya think, I was going to do a curve yesterday , but vet told me not to cause it would add more stress to callie, I didn't because my DH wasn't going to be around and he is so comforting to callie , she loves her daddy and is kind of mad at mommy :(

I don't know anything about dosing but to me it seems like the .05 isn't doing alot! callie is eating ok , she is still sleeping alot, and does not come around us alot like she use to , breaks my heart that she stays so much by herself.

so if you would take a look and tell me what ya think i would be ever so greatful , I hope everyone and their fur babies are having a nice weekend ! :YMHUG:

We will help you. Traffic is slow tonight, but I promise someone will help you!

I am no expert -- but, I will look shortly and share my thoughts!

It looks like you need to go up in the dose. Question of clarification though: are you really giving half a unit of insulin - or literally 0.05u (5 one-hundredth's of a unit)

Ok, that's what I thought, but just wanted to make sure! :-D

I'd go up to 0.75u then for your next dose if it were me.

thank you Kelly, when i do callie's ss I type in .05 and 0.05 always is what is in the box so I thought that was how I was supose to type it , I was thinking her dose should be more to ??? not how much tho , the vet told me on Friday to just leave it were it was and we would see what her bg was in a week , I don't agree with that .

I agree on raising to 0.75. It looks like she got a little action at first on the 0.5 and has gotten bored with it. Vets tend to recommend holding doses longer than we do here because they don't anticipate most people having daily data to go on. When you are testing regularly you can see what the dose is doing, and don't need to wait a week and then do a curve, etc. You have enough data at this point IMO to conclude that this dose is too low, so I would go ahead to 0.75, and then hold that for 2-3 days. If you ever get a number below 50 though, or your PSs are below 150, then you would want to reduce immediately.

I agree that you don't have to wait to increase her dose, you have enough data and mid cycle tests to see that the .5u isn't enough insulin.

You are doing great.
