Ugh, that PMPS. What do we have to do to get stop that late day rise?

If I had to guess, I'd say that these numbers are resulting from him not hitting a nadir until AM+4 to AM+6, which is really PM+16 to PM+18. The body just isn't used to that.

As you can see from the spreadsheet, the greens have abandoned us. Numbers are drifting up across the board.

One of two things is happening.

It's been about three weeks since OH returned, so it could just be that he's slowly returning to what he usually does (which always happens), and that he's now getting too little insulin for his needs. Remember, we dropped 5U in dose pretty much overnight during OH's time away.

The alternative is that there's something wrong with the vial I just opened on the 23rd. Coincidentally, we registered the worst PMPS of the year the day after I unsealed this new vial. But the insulin is completely clear and isn't due to expire until 2019, so I don't know what the odds are that it would be bad. I guess the only way to tell would be to try insulin from another source.

Either way, if the numbers don't make a dramatic shift for the better tonight, we'll move to 11U tomorrow morning.

@Chris & China - All the time (in secret of course)! I honestly believe that there's something about OH's mere physical presence or absence that affects Jenks' blood sugar, and I sure would like to figure out how or why.

Hmmm. OH isn't sneaking Jenks contraband, by chance? ;)

Was the old vial completely empty? If you still have it, it might be worth trying another shot or two from it to see if that makes a difference.

I hope your insulin isn't bad and it's just Jenks being Jenks. Hopefully he comes back down and flattens out for you soon.
