So… My regular glucometer got a little bit wet, it seemed to be working OK, but of course that happens right when I get a low number. Which in turn makes me second-guess the reading. The number I got at +7.5 hours was 174 … immediately I was thinking, “Yep this glucometer is shot. must’ve got more wet than I thought“… BUT, I took a reading with my secondary glucometer, which never reads the same, but within reason, and I got 201 so I thought… “Maybe that’s right.”
So I did a control solution test and the meter read within the range. I tested myself and I got a reading that was sensible so I tested her again with my primary glucometer and got 181 so it seems to be valid.
Hoping for the best, but I do know that you can get these numbers and if they have acro or insulin resistance, it can hop back up. But for now let’s hope we’ve reached close to the dose she needs. Fingers crossed.
Thinking like a TANK :)
