? 7/28, Tosca, nadir 70, dose for when I am away for a day

On Saturday we will be away for the day, we leave right after the morning injection, and we are back right before the evening injection. She had quite a low nadir today, so I was thinking to cut the dose in half and just give a half dose on Saturday, since I can't observe her in the day. Is that a good idea?

Hi there. I did that with my kitty. When we were going to be out for the day and nobody would be home to even check up on him, I cut his dose. I also left food out for him to eat. This did not happen often, but we did get to get out with friends for an extended period of time.

It does look like a half dose would be safe. I would also leave out food. You can always get her back on track on her current dose. If you want to, you could reduce a little bit the first night (Friday night) and see how that works, maybe not as much as 1/2 dose. Then you can go with the half dose on Saturday. This would be a very cautious approach and is another option which may make you feel more comfortable.
