I went ahead with the 2.25 this am, not sure if that was right or if it's time for a reduction after my 68 last night. But it looks like I can at least get some rest for now.

I'm not able to help with the dosing and need help myself on the subject but I feel you made the right decision on his dose this morning. Two reductions back to back is not advised, don't forget that Lantus is a depot so last night he was probably still working the larger depot.
