Busy weekend, in/out with the DBIL here. He did leave yesterday. He is a bit of different sort - not in a bad way really - just not really like my DH. DBIL is "sensitive" and likes to be tuned into his emotions. Meditates, yoga, likes buddism - but isn't buddist. Anyways - bit freakish yesterday as I am leaving for work. He is down on floor with Tuscany who is purring away (hey, anyone that joins her gets purrs). Tom was stroking her and meditating. He starts sobbing as I came into room - he says that he opened his mind up to Tuscany and "heard/felt" her thoughts. He said that she told him she knew her time was coming to an end and to tell mama thank you.

OK, now I was crying. I am a science based person mostly but not a closed minded person - there are many things in this world that can't be explained by science. I don't really believe that he had this message from Tuscany -- but at the same time -- maybe he did.

One other oddity - MamaFurFace this weekend - one of the outside /inside girls - semi feral - actually let DBIL touch her/stroke her this weekend. I've never seen her let anyone get close to her voluntarily except dh and I. Yes, if I was holding her a few have touched her but not when I wasn't even close.

Maybe your DBIL is a feline whisperer....a little spooky I agree but still, who knows?
I am sure that Tuscany thanks you for sure anyway. How is she doing today? Nice AMPS this morning anyway. Sending hugs to you both! :YMHUG: :YMHUG:

Nice numbers for Tuscany...

I believe that you can kind of tune in and know things that we can't exactly explain at this point in time. Sometimes I just know what my kitties or even other people's pets are "saying". Yeah, maybe I'm wrong, but I get such a strong feeling sometimes (and I can tell you that people get REALLY annoyed when you tell them their pets would prefer to be called by different names!). I think someday science will be able to offer an explanation for these things - kind of a heightened perception or something. Of course, I was just listening to a podcast about dogs who "predict" seizures and how they aren't predicting, but tuning into symptoms and signs (smells, etc) that precede the actual seizure as we know it. Maybe it's like that... something we can pick up when our minds are opened just the right way...

This is going to sound random, but once a friend of mine came up to me at work and said "I had the strangest dream". I wasn't really paying attention to him, I was typing on the PC and I responded "Did you dream you were a fighter pilot?". He was quiet and finally the absence of a comment made me turn around to look at him. His jaw was hanging open. That was exactly what he dreamed - and he'd never had a dream like that before, nor had we ever talked about fighter pilots. I have no idea why I said that - in fact, it was like I was listening to it for the first time as I spoke it. Very strange... But I think maybe in my distracted state, my part of my brain was open to some signal he was giving off. Who knows?

I say take it for what it's worth... maybe it's a gift. Now if he'd said "Tuscany wants you to give me all your money" - I'd be a little suspicious!!!

Your DBIL sounds pretty cool... ;)

Hi Joyce, Some people do have that 6th sense, or whatever you want to call it. Very interesting. A little of it runs in my DH's family, too. Anyway, Tuscany has good numbers today and as long as she is happy and engaged, it's a good day.

Beautiful numbers for your girl.

I've heard that animal communicators say that you can learn how to communicate the way they do. Maybe your DBIL has sensitivities that would make him good at that, or maybe he just felt some of the love you feel for each other when he was close to her.

Great numbers! The steroids don't seem to effect Tuscany at all.

I don't know if your DBIL is sensitive to Tuscany or thought he was and was saying what you needed to hear. Nor am I sure that it matters. It was a kindness.

Oops - somehow I ended up reposting my am post... Hummm thought I was changing the subject - hit enter and there it went......

Tuscany came by for dinner handouts - she wasn't impressed that we were only have tomatoes and fresh Michigan corn on the cob - a stable for us at this time of year. I had to drag out some left over turkey tenderloin to reward her for making the walk to the dining area.

Cheryl, Tuscany isn't on steroids now-- those ended in June. She is on the pain med buprenorphine. I still do wonder if it does raise the bg just a little - else I need to blame myself for being more liberal with snacks....
