Hello LL!
Phew! Another fun run for Eddie last night. I am thankful every day that I have a DH willing to participate in caring for Eddie. He let me sleep in for several hours this AM, while he did testing and feeding. DH does almost all of the T/F/S as that's when I can actually get some (relatively) uninterrupted sleep in. At first, DH was helpful and would basically test if/when I asked him to, but didn't want to learn about the how's and why's of this dance. I remember one time, when Eddie was still on ProZinc and his nadirs were totally random, I had tested at +6 and got a green nadir. DH got home early from work, and I had headed out for happy hour with my work people. I asked DH to get a test, which he did, and texted me the result....35! I texted back with instructions on what to do and immediately left for home. When I got there, DH had not gotten my texts and had not retested or fed. He had no idea of the significance of a 35, even though I had printed instructions for low numbers for him, talked about low numbers, etc.
Now, not only does he understand when a number is low, but he's learned when Eddie's patterns suggest that he's dropping too fast and he's learning what carb level to feed when. For the last couple strings of PJ parties, he's taken the lead on testing and feeding. So proud of him!!
Eventually, I'll get him to sign on here and start posting with me.
Eddie is bouncing today, but it's a little lower than yesterday's AM bounce. If he continues to be flat, and/or slides down towards PMPS I expect another busy cycle tonight. I'm OK with this pattern. If Eddie decides to switch it up and dive in the AM, I'm not sure what I'm going to do. The prospect of weekday green AM pre-shot is a little bit terrifying lately.
Vines and hugs to all kitties and beans in need today!
