Yesterday's Condo

Gave Willie the Target version of FF yesterday (Boots and Barkley?), and I think that is what is behind this morning's number, though it might be his pen as well. Going to try to make it to Costco tonight to get a new one. Also planning to switch Willie back over to his raw diet tonight as well (reminds me... need to get the liver out of the freezer!). He was not happy about switching back to BG this morning, but the bean won that battle, if for no other reason than his cyclosporine pill is so icky tasting! BTB cuddles currently in effect.

Finally have found a permanent home for Miss Jezebelle's remains. After she went to the bridge, it took a long time for me to even deal with the idea of what to do. Originally, my plan was to take her to my parents so she could rest with several other beloved family pets. But after having a dream of her playing in the backyard and squawking at birds through the bedroom window, I decided that I felt better if her remains stayed with us, so I had ordered an urn a month ago which wasn't shipped at that time, but I finally received it yesterday. I was pleased... I think it represents her personality well:



There is something very comforting about the idea of her watching over us, and the mantle just seemed like the right place for her to be. I'm feeling much more at peace now.

Special thoughts to all our LL kitties heading to the vet today and tomorrow, and to all of our beans and their loved ones needing prayers today. Hoping everyone has a wonderful day!

Oh Christie! That is so beautiful and such a great idea. Jezebelle will certainly watch over all of you and has the perfect place to sit and do it! That has to be so hard. Hugs to you!

oh wow! that is perfect for miss jezebelle - really very very nice. I really like the idea of her being able to watch over all. And I am glad that you are at peace with it all now. Full circle at last.

Bummer on Willie's numbers - and no more target fuds for you! Good luck with going back to the raw. I've never gone there... not too sure why. Willie liked that before right? And I know on the Merrick BG foods... Mannie will eat them, but he's not a big fan, unless I serve the salmon or tuna.

Enjoy those btb cuddles - perfect!

Baby is on a Raw Diet.. not liver though, so I am always curious to try new things - I understand your boy is on a special diet by Dr. Lisa, but what kind of liver do you get?

Hey, Nicole! Our primary protein is venison, but we use a small amount of beef liver as well as there are lots of good vitamins and other things kitties need in it. I do cook the liver though as even with organic liver, you don't know what toxins have gone through it or still might be in there.... so it gets lightly cooked all the way through, and then I just put it in the food processor to make it easier to mix in.

His recipe included butter (which we'll be eliminating as he no longer needs to gain weight), so I would just melt the butter in pan on low and sautee it. I will probably switch to a smaller amount of olive or coconut oil.

I will have to try that. We have a whole bunch of liver in the freezer from a cow we had butchered. I have tried boiling it and neither kitty would touch it.

I think you've made a wonderful place for Jezebelle!! Very comforting to know she's right there!!

I love that picture on your fireplace. I would love to have that for over my bed as those are the perfect colors and my room is decorated in florals!!

At least you know that Willie's numbers are all about the food!! Easy to correct. I wish I would take the time to go raw for Champ. Maybe one day....
