Lucky has been using ultra comfort now starting sure comfort, I put his dose to same line and nothing comes out I even checked with water not even a drop comes out how do I set this up

Can you try colored water or juice with the old syringe and see how many drops the dose was? Then try reproducing with the new one.

I put pink grapefruit juice in 1 I got barely a drop the new ones are skinny the old one I get about 2.1/2 drops

Just curious ...Why did you switch syringes?

I agree with Wendy. Just draw some in and try to figure out what unit line you are on when you get the same number of drops as the old syringes. Are you using calipers? If the barrel is more narrow than the last syringes, you won't be able to use the same caliper reading.

These are the very skinny ones, these were from Shai my other ones were fat so I will have to get a couple drops in him he is already late and I have dr appt in abit, how many drops should of he been getting. really hate this thought she send me some with half markings these are just all 5/16 and skinny. hate doing this now he has bbe doing so great not sure if he got any this am

Hi linda, I think Wendy's suggestion was good. Find a used syringe of the old type. Draw in some colored water and see how many drops come out at the dose you were shooting. Now over draw w/ the new syringe and expel drop by drop, noting where the plunger is w/ each drop. You should be able to tell where the plungers is for the correct number of drops. Pay attention to the space between the plunger and the end of the barrel, marking printed on the syringe can be way off.

have to find something to make colored water, pink grapefruit does not work, if had money I would just go buy some of the others Lucky has been doing so good on his dose. going to see of my brother can change me some of his to get buy

Stopped a pharmacy to pick up pain pills and the pharmacist gave me some of the 1/2u they have the long needles but I started on those so can get by but there the bigger ones until I can figure out the other at lease the pharmacist had a diabetic cat so she said to be careful if not use to micro dosing. Picked Lucky and the crew up some grass out of brother's yard they were all so happy, picked up some 9 lives can food for a change they loved it. Lucky still low not over feeding so I can keep numbers low just in case he didn't get any insulin this morning.

It must be so frustrating trying to draw such a small amount.....
Do you have milk at home?
Maybe you can use milk as colored water.
I hope your shoulder is better.

Well think I got it all figured out, wow!! :shock: the syringes I got from the pharmacist was tiny tiny. Think will get it Lucky must of got some this am or he is just responding very well :smile:

Lucky woke me at 3:30 puking up hairball. Is there anything I can give him, petrotone has malt so not sure if he can take that? Lucky seems to be doing good
 
Hi Linda,

Glad you got the syringe problem straightened out. It is very hard shooting those tiny amounts. I had to get stronger reading glasses for that!! Not sure what is good for hairballs with a diabetic cat. Someone will chime in.

My civvie Simon, threw up last night. It was food, but with a big black thing in it with smaller black pieces. It was some kind of beetle- the black stuff was it's hard shell. Yuck Yuck!!
