Appetite fairly lousy again - ate approx 1 Tbsp FF breakfast... On the other hand, I fed her a snack around +8.5 of nearly a Tbsp of FF and she ate it all up and would have eaten more if I'd offered... I think she just likes me feeding her in bed in the middle of the night...

Going to try to give some squids since her BG is not that low and it's early enuf in the cycle... Just 50 - 75 ml if she'll let me.

Sending better eating vines to Kasha. Krys your profile was really nice. You've had your horse for a very long time. I had a dog growing up that lived 17 years and he was like a "brother" to me...lol

Hope Kasha eats better for you. You may have a spoiled girl on your hands now. You know how cats think they deserve to be waited on hand and foot lol

What you do you mean "now" - Kasha's been spoiled rotten for a long, long time... probably why she's diabetic in the first place!

Hey,
Maggie says to tell Kasha to feel better soon and sends hugs! And big hugs to Blue, too. Maggie is spoiled, too. I hope Kasha starts eating better.

I just want to cry. And I will if the knot of doom and stress in my stomach ever loosen up enough for me to do that.

She ate approx 1 2/3 Tbsp FF dinner.

Got a call from the vet's office - they will prescribe another round (or more) of A/B for her. I asked if it had to be Cefa drops, since I think they nauseated her a little. The person I talked with is going to go back to my vet and ask her. I'm sure they think I'm a pain. Whatever. I can't stand seeing her like this. And now her numbers are headed the wrong way. Super. Just super.

I'm going to go mope and worry. I might just call the pharmacy for another vial of insulin. The cartridges are too expensive unless I order them, but our insulin is pretty old and I'm thinking it's better just to get the vial now and order cartridges next time.

you are not a pain, you are a concerned Mama Bean and you have a right to be! That is why you pay the vets, to answer all your questions and provide Kasha with the best possible care.

don't mope too much, it will get better for all of you.

Well, after a few back-and-forth calls with the vet's office... I got a call from our vet tech, Amy. She said that we could wait till Kasha's dental next week and they'd give her a shot of penicillin... I don't remember what else she said, but I said that I was uncomfortable waiting because I feel the congestion/mucus/sneezing is starting to interfere with her eating and possibly starting to affect her BG numbers... I don't want to risk it - even though I'm no fan of A/Bs. So, we talked about the Cefa drops and then Amy suggested Zeniquin. She gives it to her FeLV kitten and said it's well tolerated. And it doesn't have sugar since it's in pill form. So, even though I think they were probably technically closed for the night, I sped up there and got the prescription. There's also a refill available if I feel she needs more.

I'm always nervous giving a new prescription... but supposedly this is similar to Baytril, which she tolerated.

Sending Get Well vines to sweet Kasha--Hope she feels better real soon--Sorry you are so upset, but I totally understand..I would feel the same-HUGS from Us!!

Feel better, Kasha! I'm going to send you a bouquet of lovely vines from my garden. Im also sending good thoughts to your mamabean.

Hugs from your friend,
Stu

Paws crossed that this does the trick for you. I bet she really feels ok, she just wants all this pampering, and what? Feeding in bed? Heck who WOULDN"T want that?
 Gee, I'm feeling kind of queasy now too, could you come over and make me my breakfast in bed?

Krys, I hope the Zeniquin works well for Kasha! Mr Tinkles has had chronic URI problems (eye infection/nasal congestion/sneezing) since his FD diagnosis in April, and we have gone through 2 rounds of Amoxicillin, eye ointment and l-lysine. It never goes away completely, soooo frustrating! We currently are trying a long course of Azithromycin (6 weeks). The vet said they have had good results with it.

Just an idea to consider if the Zeniquin isn't effective. I don't know if you have tried it already or if she will tolerate it, Mr Tinkles seems to tolerate it well. We are only about 2 weeks in, so it's too early to tell if it will work, but i'm cautiously optomistic. He seems to be improving the last couple of days.

If you do decide to try it, have the vet give you a script for a compounding pharmacy, it's much less expensive that way. They put it in an oil based liquid for me.

I hope Kasha feels better soon!
