Good morning all... Just when I thought we'd be settling in, it seems Grayson's IBD is causing him to have some indiscretions - even when there's a clean litter box right there for him. So it looks like the food change is going to be happening sooner rather than later. I'm taking part of today off for a little "catch-up" so I guess I'll be searching and shopping for something that agrees with him and his parts! I'm not quite at the point of starting raw, but depending on how things go, I may eventually end up there.

I had to appologize to Moochie this morning, as he'd been getting a fair amt of the blame for these "indiscretions". Sorry big boy!!!

The days of getting Moochie to take the blame are over Grayson  Hope you find the right food to resolve his problem, and he gets down from the red floor post haste.

Hi guys .. ouch on the amps! Maybe grayson just isn't feeling so hot today and will come down later on .. sorry about the indiscretions, hopefully you can find a food that works for him .. have a great day!

Thanks... I thought maybe we'd gotten to the pinks, at least for a little while... but it is what it is.

Yep, Moochie was lookin kinda smug this morning when I had to appologize... as if to say "I TOLD you it wasn't me!!! It was Saint Grayson!"

Moochie might milk it for a while with the blame game! See what he can get from his Bean. Good luck with the food, always a challenge. Hope Grayson comes down.

morning Lu! well, it's morning here, at least!

i see 10 consecutive doses of 16 units and the lowest number is 240 - if i were you i'd go up! that's my 2 cents worth, at least.

are these accidents all peeing? that's what i thought you mentioned a day or so ago - if so, i wonder if it's something other than IBD. could be behavioral, especially since he didn't do it at CSU. i don't know, but thought i'd mention it.

btw, when i saw the group pics of your colorado adventure and all of your meet-ups, i just kept thinking "they all look like such nice people." thanks for sharing the pictures with us.

I think Moochie is being on his best behavior so I'll feel bad I blamed him for anything!

Julie, as for the dosing, I moved up to 16 on the 11th. Didn't want to do anything different over SRT, as I knew he'd already be wonky. Then I wanted to give him a few days to settle in. Well, times up!!! I think I'm going with 18 tomorrow, unless anyone suggests differently.

Yes on the peeing. Not sure what's up with it... but I gave him some Core tonight, and he inhaled it! Probably at home wondering when I'm home and can give him some more!!!

As for the people I met there, ABSOLUTELY!!! They were nice when they were just a name and an avatar - even nicer in person! I would probably be a bit apprehensive about meeting someone from on line - if we hadn't been "in the trenches" and in some cases, communicating daily with one another. I've heard some horror stories - but that wasn't the case for me with folks from here. I think we are somewhat of a "special breed" of animal lovers here. Doing what we do, testing & shooting several times a day, giving fluids, waking up in the middle of the night to test, etc, etc, demonstrates our love for our furry babies. I'm sure there are people here we might not have much in common with, but that wasn't the case from those I've met. Everyone has been really great! Being here is kinda like being in a really special club. And it's great to meet others that don't even begin to question why we do all we do for our babies! I think that's part of why we all keep coming back! :-D

Hi Lu and Grayson,

You know when Leo was first dx and his diabetes was out of control he used to pee wherever he fancied. Maybe once Grayson's numbers are better he will stop with the indiscretions?

Please come down from up there Grayson....ok?

Did you get a chance to see the CT scans? Kevin emailed me again and pretty much told me i can't see the pics unless i use a PC.......darnit!!!

Yes - still Black & White, but there were 4 views on the screen - each had a bar next to them that you could glide up and down to see the progression of the layers on the CT. Very cool. I PM'ed Brent, as I remembered him having awesome color pics, and he said Dr. G had sent them via e-mail. She's back in town and shot me an e-mail right as I was online w/ Brent.... ears must've been burning!!! Anyways, I've asked. Will see what she can do. If I hear from her before you get in touch, I'll ask her to do the same for you.

How's my pretty-smelling buddy??? I'd DEFINITELY take Johnson's baby shampoo over gasoline!!! Sorry about the shower big guy!!!

Zener had litter box issues too, when he was first diagnosed. We put plastic sheeting down over his favorite spots. We also got several litter boxes with piddle pads that he used. Since he's better regulated, he uses the litter box more. Haven't had an accident for a long time. With the summer the patio door is open and he's going outside, hardly uses the piddle pads. It will be interesting to see what happens this fall when he doesn't have access to outside so much. I hope Grayson will do better as he gets better regulated too.

LL is a special place, filled with crazy cat ladies! I think everyone is so crazy about their cats (and all cats), they check their egos at the keyboard and put the cats first. :-D

Oh, Lu -

So sorry about the AMPS and the 'misdirections!' There are so many things that might cause them...maybe he can't quite make it to the LB or it could be diabetes related or it could be behavioral or maybe I just flat don't know, but wish I did. I hope his numbers come down SOON and you figure out the problem.

Good luck on the changing of the food. I hope you find one he likes that also likes him!!!

Sweet Dreams, my friend -

Libby (& Hershey, too!)
