George’s BSs have been in the 400s about 60% of the time since 7/9. His SS is red, purple, and black (no blue or green at all). I have just recently discovered that he is Acro+ (Thanks Wendy and Bron). He is on 5 units of Lantus every 12 hours as of last night.
I’m hoping for advice for getting his BG #s down. Poor guy is gimping around pretty sadly and I’m worried about his longer term neuropathy from these high #s. He has been wearing a libre sensor for about 3 months now. Zero numbers below 200 since 7/9. Only once has he dipped down below 250.
Prior to 7/9, we were giving him PZI every 8 hours. His Nadirs were lower but shorter (+5 I think) and he bounced back up at about 6-7 hours pretty steeply. This is why we switched to Lantus on 7/9.
Appreciate any advice to get George feeling better. Thank you Wendy for all the help you’ve given so far. Hopefully I continue to hear from you too. You have been so helpful!
Acro: Going to take George to a vet cardiologist asap to assess next steps with Acro.
