~O) Mornin'
You're doing a great job, Peggy!! I am so HAPPY to see Mickey getting these awesome numbers. :-D
It makes me feel like dancing_cat dancing_cat

Have a wonderful day.

Re: 7/22 Mickey amps 112

What pretty numbers....Could Mickey have a talk with Musette? I've tried to get Maxwell to discuss the concept of if you don't like lots of ear pokes you need to give momma nicer numbers, but its not working...maybe cuz he's a brudder...So perhaps a handsome stranger would have more sway over her...lol

Keep up the good work there Mickey!!!

Wow.

You know, whatever *clicked* with him, he has been in below renal threshold numbers for over a week (I think) and that can mean a lot of pancreas healing going on. I really think with Beau, that was the key - getting the numbers as far below renal threshold as possible (and safe!) for as long as possible. He had the diet change 20 mos before switching to lev, so it wasn't a diet change that got him OTJ.

But anyway... knock wood / anti jinx!

Re: 7/22 Mickey amps 112 +4.5 88 + 7.5 108

Shiela, I am still shocked with Mickey, more scared I think...
Beau #'s he just turned around all by himself. Because I have changed diet, he gets the occasional EVO dry but not that often. Beau gives me hope.
Thanks Beau!!
Mel, Mickey says he will have a little chat with Musette. We will see what she thinks soon~!

This is really great Peggy! Is he better about peeing everywhere now too? When do you finish with the antibiotics?

(that's funny Marcy)

Those are totally awesome numbers, Mickey! And good for you in not peeing on the bed (anti jinx!!!).

Hey, Peggy, how much does he weigh now? I was reading the SS - did he really weigh 30 lbs a year ago? I could not even pick up a 30 lb cat to test him.

Unfortunately he does. He is anywhere between 26-30lbs Last vet visit he was 28 or so.

He is very tough to carry. He is long too, if I were to pick him up he covers my waist to neck.

TWENTY EIGHT POUNDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That is 2 Gandalfs!!!!!!!!!!! And wait a minute!! There's a picture. You didn't say he was grey!!!!

Some cats ARE just big boned though

He was trying to tell you something with all the inappropriate urination though. Glad he feels better. Cats are funny sometimes. I think humans try too hard to figure them out. We don't realize their behavior problems are really very simple.

His BGs are spectacular! I hope others who are struggling read your posts right now because Mickey is a great example of a cat whose owner has challenges managing his diabetes, but she's stuck to the program and it has worked! The infection may have had something to do with it, but if you hadn't managed his insulin doses so well, I don't think you'd be in this great spot with him now, even with resolving the UTI.

I think this icon is appropriate

I always want to use it because of the big smile, but I guess it's supposed to be "green with envy!"

Thanks Vicky! We had alot of help being on this board. You and Sheila came up with the most amazing shot schedule. I NEVER would have figured that one out with you both.

Mickey has been quite the pain in the butt through all of this. But he is being very good about all the pokes and all. I love the green smily!!
