~O) Good Morning Everyone ~O)

First, a brief weather rant. Having coffee on front porch at 5:15AM - 81-F, 98F with Humidex (there's 76% humidity).
Gonna be 99 (probably over 110 Humidex) today... Enuff Already!!!

Simon's AMBG 89 today, appetite fine.

Day 1 of OTJ trial, hope the rascal is ready.nailbite_smileThis is his 3rd time around since 2005.

Not sure of Simon's actual birthday, because we strongly suspect he was younger than claimed
when we got him in Sept. 1995. So July is his "BirthMonth". Sweet Sixteen!

Uggg on the humidity. Hopefully you will get a break soon! We are in the mid 100's again today (and for the next 10 from the looks of things), but humidity is only at about 45%.

What a great way to start a birthday!

It doesn't look like anyone provided you with the OTJ trial instructions:

  • Test at your normal AMPS and PMPS times. Feed multiple small meals throughout the day as much as possible (small meals are less likely to overwhelm a newly functioning pancreas).
  • If he is green at your normal test times, no need to test further until the next "PS" time, just feed small meals and go about your day. If he is blue, feed a small meal and test again after about 3 hours. If his number is lower 3-4 hours after a meal, then his pancreas is working!

Sometimes the trial doesn't work the first time and we have to give a little more support in the form of resuming insulin. It's not the end of the world if that happens, we just give him the support he needs. Our goal is a strong remission and it's better to take our time to get that than to rush into remission just to have it fail later on.

We're going to be 100, or above again, and I can't tell you what the humidity is. All I know is it's going to be HOT!!! Like you said... Enough already! LOL

Thanks Everyone!

I did the usual mid-morning check (+5) and got a 68. After that 89 PM, with a couple of small meals, encouraging!
I know we've probably got shed action etc..

@Sienne Thanks for that! I got the basics checking condos etc. I'm going to have to resist testing him constantly :lol:
