Woot!! Much better numbers this morning after feeding exclusively BG last night. Ann had asked why weren't still feeding raw... that was a diet that was specifically created for Willie's health needs, and when we adopted Herbie, I decided that, with my schedule, I'd like to keep them on the same food as long as possible, and the raw recipe just wasn't going to meet the needs of a 6 month old kitten. So we stick to the low carb foods on the low end of the phosphorus spectrum.
As a side note, having seen a cat eat nothing but low-carb foods for 2 years, it is amazing how much of a difference I see in her body shape/size vs. Willie at that age. While she is a much daintier cat, she just doesn't have the pudge that he developed. Looking through his vet records, I found that Willie had gained 9 pounds in the first year we had him.... all the while eating a "light" dry food!   Won't be making that mistake with Herbie!
Kitties got some sleepy cuddle time with the bean last night in the guest room. Wille's been outside this morning while Herbie has checked the yard from every available post. It's now almost 1, the beans haven't had breakfast, and DBF is getting grumbly....gotta run! T
Thanks for everyone cheering us on... I feel like our victories are Lantus Land's victories and I'm so happy you are sharing this with us!
