Kicking myself this morning! I forgot to reset my alarm this morning (after yesterday's mid-morning nap!) Shasta came in to wake me up, but I dismissed her, thinking I still had a little more time before her AMPS, breakfast and injection. UGH! Back to being 30 minutes off from my ideal summer time.

Breakfast didn't stand a chance. 1.3oz LC Fancy Feast Beef GONE!

AMPS=265; +1=247; +2=162; +3=114; +4=55; +5=66; +8=170; +9=165; +10=233; +11=273

Small snack at +2 (LC FF wet)
Fun play time around +3
Another small snack at +4 (LC FF wet .25oz)

Great cycle! And good job, Shasta, waking up your bean. Don't you just love a good appy? :-D  You can adjust the shot time by 30 mins per day, either 30 mins at one shot or 15 mins at both shots.

hi deborah! sometimes if you give them a little bit more LC than .25oz, like a full couple of bites (which i would think of us more like a tablespoon, even though punkin would say it's at least 2 Tablespoons!) when you get into the 50's, they'll surf and hold these great numbers. shasta's doing great - just a suggestion for next time.

Thanks Liz & Julie!

I'm still guestimating on the ounces, sizes, etc. So, thank you for the proportion suggestion. Since the food switch-over, she hasn't been eating as much as I would expect. That's why I haven't been putting down as much food...don't want it to go bad.

I'll be sitting down tonight to order a food scale, baby scale, automatic feeder & some Fortiflora!!! Good thing I'm a girl and I like shopping!!!

Her +8 is 170.

Hi!! Looked at your SS, and just wanted to say, Shasta is doing GREAT!!! You are doing a very good job & all of us have those days when we are late, miss the shot, or make some error..From the looks of Shasta's numbers, hard to say there is Anything wrong here!!!
I am thinking you should watch her as she may be on her way to another reducie in the near future!! -- have a good night-hugs from us!

I don't like shopping but Anne does.  I don't want to ruin your fun but we like this food scale. You might also consider an optivisor. We use the 2.5X version (I think) and a magnifying lamp. I'm not sure that's the exact one we have but it's similar. Uh, oops, that's quite a list but once I got started... Anyway, maybe file away for future reference.

Thanks, Roni & Moonie! I can definitely do without the BG in the 30's...but I like the thought of eventually reducing her dosage! Have a wonderful evening!!!

Ok, Liz, what is the optivisor for?!?!?!?! And that is the scale I was going to purchase! YAY! :-D

Re: 7/20 Shasta: AMPS=265; +1=247; +2=162; +3=114; +4=55; +5

The optivisor is a magnifier. Combined with the magnifying lamp, I can just about see the plunger and markings to get a consistent dose. Sort of.

haha! I was picturing myself as a mad scientist, concocting potions for Shasta's meals!

I just have to mention how stinkin' playful she is right now! :dizcat Almost spastic! Hope she keeps dinner down after that mouse chase!

Re: 7/20 Shasta: PMPS=291; +1=223; +2=159

Doing great here!!! She's doing a super job of clearing her bounces fast.

You don't even want to know the extent I go to on dosing because Missy G is so sensitive. I look like Dr. Frankenstein by the time I'm done drawing a dose.

I'm starting to understand that feeling! I have never had to think so hard on what to feed my cat!!!! Should I give her mid-carbs now or maybe low carbs now and mid-carbs later?! UGH! I don't think this hard on my own meals!!
