This morning I tested (202 - a little high for him), measured dose, fed the gang, wandered off - and almost three hours later saw the syringe lying on the counter, unused. Forgot to inject, oh no! (Actually more like "Oh *^&%%!!") So I did an am +3 just to see the damage - and he's at 78, JUST AS IF I HAD INJECTED HIS NORMAL DOSE. (Which is .25 now.) Weird, huh? And this isn't the first time - about a month ago I did the same thing but assumed I must have absent-mindedly injected and then recapped and laid the syringe back on the counter when he tested just like a normal cycle. This time I looked at the syringe and squeezed it out before dumping it, and definitely the insulin was still in it.
So...
a) I'm losing it lately, but that's another topic.
b) Has anyone ever heard of something like this before? Maybe I should just draw a dose and wave the syringe at him from now on?
