This morning I tested (202 - a little high for him), measured dose, fed the gang, wandered off - and almost three hours later saw the syringe lying on the counter, unused. Forgot to inject, oh no! (Actually more like "Oh *^&%%!!") So I did an am +3 just to see the damage - and he's at 78, JUST AS IF I HAD INJECTED HIS NORMAL DOSE. (Which is .25 now.) Weird, huh? And this isn't the first time - about a month ago I did the same thing but assumed I must have absent-mindedly injected and then recapped and laid the syringe back on the counter when he tested just like a normal cycle. This time I looked at the syringe and squeezed it out before dumping it, and definitely the insulin was still in it.

So...

a) I'm losing it lately, but that's another topic. :)

b) Has anyone ever heard of something like this before? Maybe I should just draw a dose and wave the syringe at him from now on?

Looks like you may have a sputtering pancreas :-D If bgs dropped on it's own, then your cat may have a very good chance of remission

Salem's been on insulin for 2 1/2 years and I assumed OTJ was almost impossible - but then I never thought he'd be on such a low dose either. I hope you're right! :D

The best ps he's had in a while - now I'm even more confused! Guess I'll do a small dose and see what happens. It's a guessing game! :?:
