No condo yesterday.

I've only skimmed subject lines today.

Visit Georgia and Simon's condo to wish her a happy birthday.

Michelle's Abbey got her wings. For those of you that know Michelle and Doodle, please send hugs and prayers for her family.

Hi everyone .. trying to catch as many condo's as I can before errands this morning ..

happy Birthday to Georgia!

Thoughts and prayers for Michelle .. :YMHUG:

Hefner is officially OTJ. His PMBG last night was 53. This was after his first day of integrations too. So I didn't do one single injection, or even set up a profile or spreadsheet. I think everyone's comments were that three years old was almost too young for diabetes and that he would be at the falls if he wasn't in the shelter. I don't think anyone, including myself expected OTJ day one. I'm going to send my friend a video of him when he's all settled in to show them what a non-insulin-overdosed Hefner looks like. That they need to be much more responsible with future diabetics and to drive the point home that they are very lucky that they didn't kill him. So considering he's OTJ, no more condo's for this guy. Loose Lips is where its at.

He's walking around the house exploring and meowing. I had to lock him in his bedroom last night because he was meowing out the front window. DH was trying to sleep downstairs. He has such a chorus of meows. Meows I've never heard from a cat before. Like he's talking and using different words.

I think I will change his name to Harper. Hefner although it makes me laugh and giggle, has a kind of sleezy feel to it  I will give it another week to see if it fits him before committing to anything.

It sounds like things are going beautifully with Hefner/Harper, Victoria, and Henry. I love a big talker - they are so entertaining, and obviously this little guy has a lot on his mind! More than anything, I am so sure he is thankful that you came along and saved his life.

Today would have been Squishy Merlin's 14th birthday  Sometimes I wish he were still here with me  He was such a well behaved quiet cat with no energy level... unlike the kitten he sent me @-)

Nothing new with Leroy or Emma as of late. Emma's picked up some trilling from Leroy :o Leroy is a bad influence  It's supposed to be really hot and humid for the next few days  I'm going to have to put the AC on so the cats don't overheat, especially Emma with her long black fur.

wow i've missed a lot! who is hefner (other than Hugh?) and how did he come to be with you!

squeem, squishy merlin sounds like he was a special sorta kitter! a heart capturer!

Awwwww. He has to be opposite of Squishy so they aren't replacements. I want a big fluffy Maverick really badly but a larger power has sent me three non Maverick's. Hugs to you. I know how much you miss your boy and wish he was still with you.

Hi Julie, You've missed a ton. On Thursday I picked up a foster diabetic cat - Hefner - from the shelter I got Henry and Victoria at. He was depressed and not eating. I brought him home, tested him at 55. All he did at the shelter was sleep. He never meowed. He was a broken diabetic (aka not diabetic somehow) being overdosed on insulin. He is going through integration with Henry and Victoria now. Welcome back. We've missed you and Punkin.

He may be a diet controlled diabetic, ie, with the right food, off insulin, with the wrong food and stress, needing _some_ insulin (though not nearly what the shelter was giving him!). You'll want to test him periodically to ensure he maintains the normal BG, because infection can set off the insulin need again.

Wow, that is so amazing! It sounds like it just happened with the integrating, and Hefner (I mean Harper) and everyone are getting along. I wonder if Harper was in a home with other cats and dogs, as he fits in so well. What a lucky kitty.

Do you think the people at the shelter will listen to you, Karrie, when you explain what happened with Hefner/Harper? It is just awful to think what would have probably happened to him if you hadn't stepped in. He is one lucky, special kitty!

Squishy can never be replaced and I never expected the next cat to. I was looking for an active but not extremely so somewhat behaved cat. Instead I got Leroy @-) @-) Then Emma came along but at least she's not crazy like Leroy.

He was cat_pet_icon Vets loved his big orange squishiness. Squishy was fractious in return except for the dental vets. He was a wet mop for them. I'm still trying to figure out why  Here's Squishy's Catster page http://www.catster.com/cats/187205 The pictures of him with the green ball shaped toys on the green tissue paper were taken 2 weeks before he went to the Bridge. Sometimes I look at the pictures and wonder what happened to cause him to get so sick and eventually go to the Bridge  I know it won't change anything and thinking about the "what ifs" is just going to drive me nuts. I haven't been able to bring myself to look at the pictures and videos of Squishy in the ER hooked up to tubes and looking awful, espcially not the very last pictures and video of him taken only a few hours before he left

Awww Squishy was so handsome. I'm not sure why I thought he was the same breed as Leroy. I thought it was a real brussel sprout initially ohmygod_smile

Thanks :-D Squishy was just your typical Garfield-type DSH.

Lol  They look pretty real but are made from yarn and stuffing. Much tastier (to a cat) than a real brussel sprout, I would think  Someone on the old FDMB made the original brussel sprout toy. I can't remember now who it was.

glad to hear that Harper's story is having a happy ending!

i looked at squishy merlin's pictures on catster - he's a cutie! i never was attracted to orange kitties before punkin. Now i think they are da bomb! :-D

I love the name Harper!! I'm with Natalia...it just makes me sick to think of them blindly shooting him with insulin.....I cannot figure out how they kept from hypoing him.

YOu're an angel, Karrie!!!
