So what have I learned? Living at his own house is stressful :( I did not shoot this AM as I am not going to be able to come home during lunch and I am not sure what he will do on even the drop after not getting it for days. I will resume insulin tonight if he is not green (please, pretty please green with a cherry on top)....

I will be informing my sister that Skooter and I are moving in.....I did not test the 77 a second time, I didn't think I would need to since he has been without insulin....I am hoping this is just him getting settled back in and adjusted to life at home.....fingers crossed, we shall see.....

Way to go Skoot! No juice. That's great!
I'm at the lagoon.
Cya there!

Hopefully he's just settling back in at home and will go green again for you. If and when you can, when you get a "PS" number that is just slightly out of range like that, it can give you some info if you test again about 3 hours after eating. I know that's easier said than done sometimes with work, though.

Sending green vines to SkooterPie! Have a great day, Molly!

Fingers crossed for greens . . . if you don't have a pmbg of less than 70, I'd probably restart. He might just need that little drop of insulin to help him stay in normal numbers. It's typical for the ambg to be the last number to come down. Giving a bite of low carb at +9 can bring down the #s 3 hours later in some cats, not all.

@julie & punkin (ga) I didn't see your post until now...I did not give insulin as I wanted to see what he would do with his +3. I will be home tomorrow, so my plan was if I didn't get a green in the morning to start up the insulin again :( He already gets a +9 snack, but he didn't eat all of it last night.....I can't believe he gets lower numbers at my sister's house than his own home :( Kind of hard not to feel like an utter failure that he does better with me gone than with him lol.....sigh oh well....

Ok, Skoots. Green. That's all.

Molly, when I took Polly to Colorado...long days in the car, long nights in hotels, lots of time at the vet over four days. She pulled lower numbers than she did at home. I suspect she may be one of those odd cats who goes lower when "out of norm."

You're a great bean. You two will do what you need to do...and it will all work out.

Our first green on no insulin AT HOME....

I know it was a knee-jerk reaction but I guess I was just expecting things to go smoothly and without incident LOLOL....Oh I should know this dance better than that by now! Even if he is higher tomorrow, and he has to restart insulin, that is ok.....but I tell ya if he doesn't get off of it in a couple of months, we are moving in with my sister! lol... I guess I was just also so excited at the prospect of not giving insulin and I know once I start, it is at least a week on, and that is if he gives me normal numbers for the full week, which I am guessing he wouldn't do....again, borrowing trouble I don't have yet, I know....I guess just high hopes that we had finally done it and just tough pill to swallow to have him so low at my sister's house and then come home and BOOM.....oh well....

Jeesh woman...you really are a "glass half empty" kind of person, aren't you?....LOL

OK now Skoots....the joke's over...You got your mama good...now it's time to settle back down and show her you can be a good green kitty!!

Normally no, but I guess I was just taken a back by going from the 77 alst night to the 130 this morning.........

So I am guessing at this point if I don't see green in the morning, even if between 100-120, I still want to start the insulin back up, right?
