I always like double check before I increase but I think it's time for an increase. What do you all think?
I probably should've increased this morning when I look at my SS now.
I showed the main vet Ming's SS and she is pleased with it. Just to recap, I work at a 4 vet practice and Ming mainly sees 2 of them. The Main Vet is the one that mostly treated Ming when he had DKA and is much more aggressive about treatment during illnesses and was the one that wanted to try steroids. I go to her to ask about tests and her opinion on Ming's issues.
Vet B is the vet that I usually go to ask for medications and who is always very curious how Ming is doing. She's the Yes-Let's-Do-It! Vet. and the one that likes to try new things. She wants to try the Freestyle Libre on Ming just experiment to see how well it works and how it's tolerated. I think it's a great idea and would help with other patients with owners that aren't comfortable with home testing.
Anyway, I talked to the Main Vet about Cushing's which she doesn't think Ming has but is humouring me and testing Ming's pee. I also complained that I wish he wouldn't bounce and that I'd get better numbers but she wasn't overly concerned about it and is happy with it. I think since vets can't be so hands-on with their diabetic patients, seeing numbers that are in the blue-yellow range is better than seeing numbers in the pink-red-black range all the time.
I also was listening in to a conversation between the Main Vet and a new employee about raw food for cats and was pleasantly surprised to hear that the Main Vet believes cats should be on raw and that's what they eat in the wild anyway.
Anyway, it's always nice to have some type of approval from my vets about what we're doing for Ming. I wouldn't take dosing advice from them but at least they're open minded.

I just gave him some 1 tbsp of LC FF mixed with a dollop of honey. I might take out the FF gravy just in case. I haven't yet found a HC food that makes a dent on Ming's BSL when he's having lower numbers.
